The Worse Bad Beats that you ever had

Recommended Posts

Was just wondering what everyone's bad beat story was. I remember mine like yesterday. I was playing a cash game of minimum buy in of 25 dollars. I was up like 100 some dollars. I was catching some impressive cards. Anyways, I get Qs A off suit. I raise, half the table folds, except like two other people. Flop comes out A s - 4 s - Q c. I bet, other plaer folds, other guy raises. Turn comes 8 s. I raise, he re raises, I call. River comes out another low spade. I have a Q high flush. I bet, he goes all in. I pondered this for at least 7 minutes. I asked myself, "IS he the type of guy to go all in on a bluff, or all in on J high flush, or does he have the K of spades for the nut flush?" The voice inside me told me to call, so I did. Low and behold, he turns over the King of spades. I lost over hundred bucks on that hand. I sat there for awhile thinking how I came up short. Looking back, I know what type of person he is now, and realized that his is very risk averse and would not risk everything an anything but the nuts.

I wasnt playing cash gmae so its not a whole lot worse. Heres why it is worse tho. I have bullets. raise b4 flop. flop come Q,4,2. thinking i have the best hand i bet. the guy raises me. I reraise, he goes all in. I call since the flop was rainbow. He had A/Q. so he had top pair queens and i had pocket aces. next card 8. the only way he can win was with a Q, and what do u know, 3 queens beats pocket aces. This was a big play money tournament with a lot of people and a lot of play money.

Playing at the 5-10 table at Turningstone casino. A well aged group of guys. Some "local pros" as I call them. Having a good time, up 300. A "kid" sits down with his min 100. He has all the chip tricks down and is making sure we can all see it. Everyone just kinda gets a little smile. I get dealt pocket queens(QdQc). I raise to 5. He calls. Flops comes Qh9s4c. I bet. He calls. Turn comes 8s. I bet. He calls. River comes 3s. I bet. He RAISES. I know he made a spade flush but wanted to see what he called me with this whole time so I call. He turns over 7s2s. For the first time ever, I nearly lose it. But rather playing on tilt, I gather my chips and say to him "Keep playing like that at this table and you will be broke soon enough." After about an hour away, come back and he is gone. Sure enough, they busted him up so I was happy again. Justin
