T.O. will not last longer than 1-2 seasons in any city, let alone Dallas. He has a huge attitude / agent problem. But hey, you have to feed your family right? And afterall, how are you going to make the Ferarri payment if you have to spend all your money on multiple morgages and food!?! It just isn't possible.

As a Cowboy fan...I am perfectly fine with us signing him, to bad our QB will not likely be able to get him the ball.
You'll be sorry he ever came to Dallas and ruined your team. It won't take long.

Not really.TO is like 32 years old. He wants to get paid and doesn't have many years left to do that, so he needs to keep his butt in line for that to happen. This could be his last big contract.

Except that there will always be another team willing to take a shot with him, so why would he keep his butt in line?

Just because teams will take a shot, doesn't mean they will pay max value or not put heavy stipulations in the contract.Dispite the crap Drew Roseagent was spewing on ESPN this morning, don't think some of the teams interested were not going to put huge stipulations on any contract they were offering. Dallas didn't do that, they were one of the few teams offering money + no/few stipulations. If he blows it in Dallas, that list keeps getting smaller or becomes non-existent.

I didn't hear what Drew said, but I think he's part of the problem. He has T.O. thinking that he deserves all this money and long-term contracts, etc., so Owens doesn't really see the reality of his situation. Which just makes it less likely that he doesn't act out at some point. He might be good for one year, but he's clearly a destructive personality.

As a Cowboys fan, I'm cautiously optimistic about the signing. Even though I've always hated TO personally, he's a more talented version of the guy he's replacing. Remember the baggage that came with Keyshawn?

Do games where he is suspended count or are we talking number of games he actually plays in?

Suspensions count...thus, (20 games including pre-season) he is there only one year.

I'll take the over. He won't be released until after this year. He might be suspended the later part of the year, but he'll still be on the team. Owens will be fine the first year if the QB can get him the ball, but that's certainly no guarantee. If he's not getting the ball and the team is losing, look out.

Right before he got cheapshotted for his showboating :club:
I wouldnt call it a cheapshot at all. George Teague was defending his homefield and organization on that one.

Besides T.O. deserved to get clocked after that. To bad Teague effectively whiffed.

And we have a winner!!! :club: Signing TO to a 3 year deal wasn't very smart. They should've gone one year and seen how it went. But, the Cowboys have a pretty good reputation right now for handling douchebags. If they can keep him in check off the field, he'll do wonders for them on the field.
