I never called him stupid, or singled out anyone of them. For him to say he's "glad that I'm out," let's me know where I stand with him. I'd never had a problem with him in the past in any way, but those days are over. I have nothing to say to him and I don't really need his "support." Why he is making this a personal issue I don't have the slightest? I said I think the lawsuit is horrible for poker and I stand firm on that opinion. I always saw him on TV at least as a nice person but seeing him say that in the chat made me think it was not him. terradawg 0 Posted August 6, 2006 Share Posted August 6, 2006 funny that raymer would call daniel a puppet for the WPT because it seems to me that raymer is actually a puppet for stars. you see, stars is the one who has the most to lose by the WPT using raymer's likeness. they signed an exclusive deal with him. however, legally speaking, they have no standing to sue. therefore, they need to have someone with standing to sue the WPT. enter raymer and hachem. it's no coincidence that the plaintiffs in the suit are stars biggest clients. i seriously doubt that raymer and hachem hired these lawyers. stars did, to protect their contracted right to market the WSOP winners. to me, there is no other explanation... But Daniel NEVER singled out any of them or actually said outright who they were. I know i'm a little naive to maybe not have figured it out, but really i don't care, i don't see it as being good for poker either. As for Raymer and Hachem (and Moneymaker) for that, all are paid very well by PS for their images and this is probably one of those cases. Unfortunately, they didn't censor Raymer's chat and this is probably gonna hurt his image more than the lawsuit....especially since Daniel has soooooo many great fans.BTW, Great Job in the ME Daniel, you worked hard and carried yourself like a true professional, you definately make Canada proud Link to post Share on other sites

But in all seriousness, these kinds of feuds popping up between the 7 and non 7 are one of the reasons the lawsuit isn't good for poker. Especially when you have two players with "nice guy" images like daniel and raymer arguing over some lawsuit bullshit that comes down to how the WPT MIGHT exploit their images. Every major sporting league(NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, MLS) has complete control over how they use the images of any of their players captured before, during, or after a game. The public is even supposed to get express written permission to use any images that were broadcast during the game.Then again, this could be a promotional ploy set up by Don King for a steel cage PPV boxing/wrestling match between Daniel and Raymer.
