  1. someone needs to check their math... take a look at DN's tourny results for 2005 from the CardPlayer link above. The actual total adds up to $2 million less than what they have listed.weathermania
  2. everyone has access to the tourny results... I don't see how Poker Stars can prevent this from happening.
  3. I admit that the reraise was too small. Halfrek was the chip leader and the most active player at the table, so I put him on a steal attempt from the small blind. I figured any non-min reraise would give me the pot. It was just my bad luck that he had a legit hand and went for the big semi-bluff on the flop.weathermania
  4. Tens full = TTTAAAT = AAATT, aces full.Very tough to fold, but an AATQ board should be scary enough to make you consider mucking. It really depends on the action up to that point, the size of the pot compared to the all in bet and how many bets you would be left with if you do decide to fold. I admit that I have been in similar situations where the thought that I am beat has gone through my head... but I don't think I've ever been able to lay it down.weathermania
  5. Got all my chips in as an 85%-15% favorite... what else can you do. I'd have been a monster stack in the tourny (PS $10 rebuy) had I not taken this bad beat, but.... that's poker.weathermaniaPokerStars Game #2774012585: Tournament #13543347, Hold'em No Limit - Level XVI (3000/6000) - 2005/10/10 - 21:01:55 (ET)Table '13543347 120' Seat #3 is the buttonSeat 1: fussieface (210340 in chips) Seat 2: catfish48 (70980 in chips) Seat 3: Bigdaddydvo (85923 in chips) Seat 4: Halfrek (375576 in chips) Seat 5: weathermania (178065 in chips) Seat 6: janos007 (87504 in chips) Seat 7: pure_luck_Z (99408 in
  6. I like AA and KK. Everthing else makes me nervous unless I'm on the button.A better thread would be...Top Ten Hands That Do Not Include Big Pocket Pairs Or Aces With High Kickers. Here we go:1) 98s2)87s3)76s4)65s5)97s6)86s7)T9s8)JTs9)JQs10)KQsJust about as unimaginative as my play, but I'm sure there are more interesting lists out there.weathermania
  7. And now I'm out. My resteal from the BB with Ax ran into the chip leader's 77... no ace for me.Hope you all have fared better than I.weathermania

  10. Just handed out the best bad beat I've ever seen. I'm shortstacked nearing the bubble of a $22 PS freezeout. Blinds are 400/800 and I have AKo on the button with 4K chips. UTG raises to 2K, cutoff goes all in for 2.5K. I go all in figuring bestcase I have them dominated, worst case.... Well worst case was reallity! UTG has KK and cutoff has AA! . Flop comes QTx, turn's a blank and the river..... is the miracle J for my broadway straight. YEEEEEEEEEEEHAW. My odds of winning were 5.6%. Maybe not the longest of longshots, but it sure looked bleak before the flop.Cheers, weatherman
  11. I used to deal at river rock. The best game to start with is 2/4 limit. It's incredibly fishy since it's full of new players... just play tight/aggro and you'll do fine. Good luck getting a table during peak times... wait list is usually hours long. If you can, try to play late at night (like after midnight) since everyone is stuck and tilting by then and many of the players will be drunk. Once you've got the bankroll for it I highly recommend moving up to 4/8. The games at that level are full of gamblers who think they know how to play poker but really don't have a clue. The 4/8 games
  12. This is an Omaha Hilo classic. It hurt all the more because I went from the chip leader to mere mortal in one hand. Flopped the nuts with A A 4 5 and while I didn't have the nuts on the turn, I did have the nut spade redraw and of course the Aces full draw. Needless to say, I pumped it all the way. I love these players who cold call raises from early position with hilo beauties like 9922... here's the history.weathermaniaPokerStars Game #2617550624: Tournament #12672328, Omaha Hi/Lo Limit - Level VI (200/400) - 2005/09/20 - 00:37:08 (ET)Table '12672328 12' Seat #3 is the buttonSeat 1:
  13. The pot is calculated by adding up what is in the middle of the table plus what is in front of players in the current round plus the bet that you have to call before making your raise. This is why it seems like you can bet more than the pot.weathermania
