  2. yeah?Well I put $50 into each Paradise, Empire and Stars and played at the low level hold'em tables, sng's and MTTs.After many hours amounted, I finally go to cashout and it says 'sorry - no funds available'. I think my bankroll's broken :(Mxx
  3. I've just started playing 7-card after watching a bit of coverage from the '04 WSOP and think it's a game I want to continue with - after managing to double my money playing last night.Still getting into the game, obviously, but I was wondering what kind of hands are considered the best? It seems that most of the people at my table were only really playing when they had been dealt high cards or a pair, whereas I was going in with flush and straight draws which hit a few times and missed many*...still, it seemed to make more sense than hoping just to get 2 pair or fluke a full house.Which hands
  4. Agreed. The most important thing to do is keep your chip lead...and sometimes this means that you should lay down anything that you would in a normal situation. If on the Button/SB and everyone has folded to me pre-flop, I would tend to raise the BB x3 - even if I have nothing. Many times this will take the pot. If the short stackers have something to play with, you see the flop and then decide. If they show weakness, bet again...there's still plenty of outs for you. If you do hit something with your hole cards, grind them down. As people get more and more short stacked they tend to play onl
  5. I agree you do get a lot of idiots online, but the majority of people, I'd say 90%, are okay and respectful enough. I had one guy totally abuse me after I cracked his pocket kings with 2 pair, something like 75o. I was on the BB and if he had raised me enough I would have dropped the hand instantly, but a cheap flop was offered and I lucked out with 2 pair on the flop. Still playing cautiously, neither of out hands improved and he was all-in by the river card. Even though I had him beat on the flop he started swearing at me for, first, playing that hand and secondly for continuing to play i

  7. correct. And don't forget, that pair of 2's will always beat those 1's. Mxx
  8. Reverse the situation. You're standing at 2nd, the guy in first has a huge chip lead - you hit a great flop with a bad hand. Lower 2 pair. The guy makes a very small bet, you raise 4 times that amount. Guy in 1st calls*.A jack comes on the turn, to which you put out a feeler. You now have the lower 2 pairs with 2 overcards that are often played. He hits you with a re-raise. So...what do you put him on? Showed a little weakness after the flop came and now hits his J. JJ is very very unlikely, as is such a raise if hoping for a flush or straight on the river. Figure he probably has AJ - ma

Just as much skill is involved, perhaps it just needs different strategies depending on how far in to the tournament you are.Getting ITM at the WSOP would still be a great achievement, even more so to get to the final few and ultimately win it - obviously it requires a certain degree of luck. Entering MTTs online sees you pitted against thousands of other people at a time and, yes, luck comes into it as to how far you would get. However, to get ITM 95% of the tournaments you play in means that there is a certain level of skill you must have, it can't be pure luck. The WSOP is getting more peop
  10. 9 posts in and still waiting for you to say something worthwhile.Have you ever heard that saying about 'If you don't have anything good to say...?'.Mxx
  11. Online I always have silence as I like to concentrate, but I can see why people do it live. WSOP-04 was the first I had actually watched and how busy the place is during the first few days is astounding - imagine all the noise surrounding you at a place like that...you would need something to take away the distraction. I believe many snooker players used to listen to headphones, but I think this was banned in case they listened to 'self help' tapes that were deemed to give you a psychological advantage over the opponent. As long as whoever I'm at the poker table with doesn't play the music so
  12. Does SS2 cover Internet play?If so, how indepth does it go?I loved the NL Holde'em section in SS, but of course I could not relate it to internet play as much as to live action - I'm hoping the new one has moved enough with the times to cater for both.cheersMxx
  13. Seeing as how you obviously ignored all of the rules you said 'I agree to' when signing up for the forum...why not add fullcontactpoker to your links page and show you're not just touting for business?Mxx
  14. Contracts needed here. You'll be amazed how quickly a friendship could break up when you ask someone to give away $1.25m.Mxx
  15. The idea, to get you or one of your friends to be able to go, is good - if this is something you all wish to do - but as mentioned before, it's going to be hard for many people to keep pumping money into something they get nothing in return for. Perhaps you can bump the ante up a little and make it so that, after a year, you have enough in the pot for the single entry fee and a trip to Vegas + hotel fees for all of you. At least then you will all get something out of it, and you have a nice little group supporting you. If the 'losers' like they can all then make sure they have funds for a sat
