stonecoldnuts 0
Since I don't have 10 grand to enter the big buyin tourney's yet, I am relegated to Super Satellite land for now. I'm looking for any insights/tips regarding strategy. Specifically how to navigate my way through the field to maximize my chances. Feel free to break down your advice in the various tournament stages as follows. Thanks.Early RoundsMiddle RoundsLate RoundsFinal TableHeads Up
Wlleiotl 0
aim to finish in the prizes and thats all. if it pays top 1 then push any edge to get chips to put yourself in the best position for it, if it pays top 20 then post and fold if you're chipleader at 30 to go. it all depends on how many it pays, but the most important thing is that you get into that prize with chips, whether its all of them or one of them, make sure you do whatever gives you the best chance of finishing in the top x. Feel free to break down your advice in the various tournament stages as follows. Thanks.Early RoundsMiddle RoundsLate RoundsFinal TableHeads UpThis works for me:Early... ULTRA agressive. Raise/all in a lot. Take advantage of the rebuys. Its all about building a huge chip stack. In the last one I played, managed 10000 in chips and the chip lead just because everyone was pushing hard. Middle rounds... Tight/agressive. Protect your lead/stack while continuing to build it when you have the best hand, and watch others take each other out around you.Late rounds... Slightly less tight. Blinds will eat you away now. Be agressive and bluff more to buy blinds while continuing to protect your stack. Final table, much the same as above.Heads up: Raise raise raise. Make your opponent pay for the flop. Be careful and pay very very close attention so that you don't get caught with Acrap against KK or something like that. But don't allow any flop to be free. To me, at this point, the less flops, the better. With this strategy in the last 4 satellites I played, I placed 9th, 2nd, 6th, and 1st in that order. The 1st and 2nds got me a seat to the other part of the satellite (2 steps) where I finished 3rd and 10th respectively. Justin
