If he can somehow get control of his degenerate gambling tendencies maybe he can get his head back above water but it sounds like he owes a very large number to a lot of different people.

Seems genuine.People that aspire to play poker professionally could possibly learn from this video. I'm sure there's a lot more people that are just like him, and it just shows that you really need to stay grounded if you want to maintain success.I'm all for second chances with certain exceptions, and it'd be great if he is able to pay back his debts and get back on his feet.

Wow. Yeah, I'd say it sounds sincere. Must be terrible to feel at the bottom.Worst thing is so many are going to rip him while he tries to right his ship.Good luck Brad.

hopefully he turns things around, but from my experience, degenerate gamblers will always repeat the same behavior. I've met very few people who can completely beat that addiction. best of luck to him though

interesting video. I think he deserves credit for this video. chances are he just has a sickness. I'm undecided as to whether he's a 'nice guy' or not, but I'd say he probably is not an outright, lying scumbag, just an addict who's sickness gets the better of him.

I find it pretty amazing he has someone still willing to back him despite all this debt and shady dealings. I wouldn't be staking anybody in that situation regardless of their talent or potential.

He says in the video the backers are keeping all money till the end of the series.

Great Video...I willing to bet that there are a lot more 'name' pros in his place that we dont hear about their financial situation.

He's hardly the first to go broke and owe money all over the place...stories like this are the rule in professional gambling, not the exception.

Sounds like he has drink and gambling problems, hanging round a casino trying to make the money back is never going to work out.

yeah, I think with all the bad stuff in poker the last while, you can't rule anything out.

Wow, what a video. Seems very legit with me. I wonder how much he owes. It sounds like he owes quite a bit more than the 250k goal he has at the wsop.

I guess my suggestion to "get a job" wouldn't be of much comfort to him at this stage?

People often don't realise the most important thing in poker is bankroll management. It sounds to me like this guy has a problem and needs help and atleast he's admitted as much. Everybody goes broke at least once, from the micro stakes grinders to the guys at the top of the money list. I very much hope he gets back on track and I'm sure at least some of his backers know this happens to the best of us and will cut him some slack or help him in some way. The poker community comprises of some of the most decent people on earth and sure, while there are some scum this guy clearly doesn't want to be known as one of the few and want to fix things. Good luck to him.
Things to remember:
You can shear a sheep many times, but skin it only once.
Don't trust to the rabbit's foot, it didn't work for the rabbit.
Poker is not a game of cards played with other people, it's a game of people played with cards.

People who are saying 'get a job' are probably being ignorant imo. The guy maybe has a high school diploma and maybe some experience at minimum wage jobs. What's the best kind of job he can expect to get? Maybe 25k a year after tax? He's so deep in the hole, the only reason for this would be for 'show' - ie. to make it look like he is trying to back his debts, however, realistically, he's not actually going to be able to pay off his debts getting a normal job. The only sector in which he has any decent experience in is poker, so the best way to make good of this situation is to play poker.
