The most interesting thing about the worlds largest beaver dam is that it was discovered via Google Earth and some guy trekked out there to see it IRL and was the first person to ever set foot in that

Beware of overcharging someone. Thats the #1 lesson learned from the Zimmerman case. He was guilty of avoidable behavior that ultimately culminated in a fatality- manslaughter- but he was not guilty

You should've tried to get on the jury and convince the rest that he was not guilty.

This could turn into a real crisis very quickly. I hope not.

In a matter of hours, the Korean peninsula fell into a state of geopolitical tumult

China is willing to use trade as a club to force others into submission.

Over the potential impression of US gaining strength in region.

China is not a good friend to anyone but themselves. To continue to strengthen then economically to maximize profits for corporations is like feeding the baby snake that lives in your back room. Eventually it will have the ability to do real damage, and the west will have contributed to their own problem.

It should be noted that China has always played Russia against America and visa versa. They see the world like the game Go, that surrounding a space means you control the space. They helped NK to prevent the US from having a larger footprint of influence in Korea, they invaded Vietnam when the Russians were becoming to 'friendly' after our war there. The news that Russia and the US are going to have better relations is the most troubling thing they can imagine.

Which means we either have to capitulate and weaken out ties with Russia, or expect China will retaliate somehow over our strengthening relationship. I for one think Russia would be a better friend than China ever will be, even if their friendship isn't that great.

Communist, you just can't trust them.

Even the ones in the democrat party.

Bob,

Do you think the US should not employ a missile defense system in SK?

should have one in South Korea, should have one on the main islands of Japan, should have one on Okinawa and should have the shipborne Aegis systems as well.

Thaad should probably be in as many places as possible.

I agree, as long as it works, remember the Patriot system, never knew if it was working or just had a good PR dorm.

But it is this game changing technology that is threatening NK. If we start to build something that will neutralize their missile tech, we can't act surprised that they want us to stop building it. We're pushing them into a corner, and they are not nuanced thinkers here.

May need to drop a few bombs over the border to remind them what real technology looks like.

if NK decides to take out Seoul there is nothing that can be done. The thousands of conventional artillery pieces in range plus the short range rockets and missles have no defense. We know they have chemical and nerve gases as well.

I'm surprised Obama didn't figure a way to give them a few pallets of hundred dollar bills then.

When the son took over from the dad, a relative of mine was in intelligence for the Pacific in Pearl.

He told me they were not nervous because the son is a nut case sure, but he just wants to be a nut case in his country.

Leave him to his country and he'll stay in its borders.

Not sure if that's changed, but it does fit with how he's ruled so far.

This Foreign Policy article isn't going to make you sleep better at night if you are South Korean or Japanese

North Korea Is Practicing for Nuclear War

Posturing, and the jabs at Trump in the article really support my contention that this author is an idiot.

NK s one of the largest armies in the world, underground tunnels crossing the border have been found, massing of troops on border, etc for years.

They, like Saddam did, use posturing to keep their enemy at bay, not to practise to commit suicide.

I mean we basically funded Iran's nuclear program, so obviously there's nothing to worry about crazy dictators having nukes.

My favorite thing on the interweb this year

Synopsis:

Shia Labouf puts up flag "He will not divide us" with live cam, pointing up to sky so no geographic landmarks can be seen.

4Chan users use contrails from airplane and time frame to cross reference, then guy drives around honking horn, finds flagpole and replaces flag with Trump shirt and hat.

All inside of a day and a half from the 'protest' Shia wanted to have last for years.

Shia on suicide watch...but having hard time getting volunteers

Terrorist attack in London may have a body count.

There are apparently several bodies lying on a bridge of some kind, early witness reports claim they were shot?

Terrible all around.
