When i was in vegas -- about a month ago -- I sat down at a pretty live 4/8 game.I was kind of in a shitty mood, but sat anyway.There was an older Vietnamese guy sitting to my left, that was totaly dominating the table, and being a severe loud mouth and extremely cocky the whole time.he would raise befoer looking at his hand, reraise blind etc...and often times turn over some huge hands when others didn't believe him. His game was working perfectly, as it was throwing everyone else off, can't fault him there.some things really started to irritate me, so i started playing table cop. You can tell me if im wrong to call these things out.1. he would look at his cards and then lay them down well over the "line" on the table. I called him out on this one, saying, "shouldn't that be a muck, his cards are layed face down over the line"dealer corrected him -- he just made some stupid comment, "ohh! i crazy guy, me bad boy tran~!"2. He would often times come over the line to call a bet, with a hand full of chips. I called the dealer on this one, saying shouldn't that be a raise as he has enough chips over hte line to show a raise.dealer agree'd and made him raise -- once again, some stupid comment.3. he had some friends standing behind him, being just as annoying, "oh you so good, you like poker pro, good time." Well often times he would pick his hand up off the table and show the group behind him saying, "oh i win this hand, i got best hand -- should i raise? yea i raise all times!!"I asked the dealer if it was right that the rest of the table should have to play against a whole team -- dealer said, it wasn't against the rules to show your hand to the rail. wierd..ok..4. He often would drop cards while doing his show his friends his hand trick, a few times the cards would flip into my stack, or even once flipped into my lap. the time it flipped into my lap, he was ina huge pot 4 way on the river and showed his supposed nuts to his buddies, and his card dropped into my lap.I told the dealer it should be a dead hand as the cards left the table -- dealer killed his hand, hahaha...What do you guys think about this...i found this dude extremely annoying, which i guess was his "game" but should i have been such a dick about it? I think the main reason i was being so bitchy is because just previously i was knocked out of a tournment after showing a card before the dealer called for the hands to show down. i went all in and the guy said what i thought to be "take it" and i flashed my ace to show the nut flush. dealer killed my hand and shoved the pot to the guy...ugh...anyway...yea thats the story.

Just leave the guy alone. It's $4-$8 for ****'s sake. Don't take your bad mood out on a guy that's just having fun. Number two is way off, by the way. I can't believe the dealer backed you up there.

naw your right..i mean looking back at it..i was being stupid and vengefull.but the dude was severly annoying -- everyone at the table was livid..it was kinda funny actually thinking about it.#2 -- This was supposedly some new rule they implemented that i saw numerous people getting nailed on. if you didnt call your action, and came over the line with more than enough chips, it was an implied raise.

haha..one of my best friends is Korean.maybe i just hate vietnamese!! no seriously -- it just got under my skin -- his whole demeanor. If it was a loud mouth white/black/yellow/red/oarnge..etc.. guy id be saying the same stuff.

Actually it depends on the house. Some people do use this rule. It's the same as checking with chips in your hand, some houses consider this a bet.But really don't be such a nit. If I didnt know any better I wouls think you are a 60 year old regular weekday player from the Mirage.

What if he was a polka-dotted Inuit?It's completely your right to question his plays and to give him hell for breaking the rules. I also think you are not correct about #2 as long as the chips you bring across the line don't touch the felt (as in they still are in your hand) and as long as you don't drop more than half the bet's worth of chips (in 4/8 dropping 7 chips across the line is a raise, while dropping 6 is a call pre-flop) along with your call, then it's a call not a raise.Whether you should have is up to you. Needling is perfectly legal. Needling works well. Should you do it? I would say no.

Haha..seriously though.If you were in a pot with me, and i was constantly showing my fan club my hands and talking out loud about it to them...every once and a while dropping my cards on the ground under the table..you wouldn't say something about this? The rest was pretty nitty...ill give you that...but the showing hands stuff...jeez...

I'm pretty by-the-book at the table - so I think I would have done the same thing. I have seen #2 happen at a few different places - with varying results.

I'm glad you see how lame you look.Its 4-8, just like the 1-2 NL games in Vegas, who cares??we played 1-2 at ceasars and the alladin and had prop bets going, there was 4 of us at 1 table throwing chips back and forth across the table for the props, and all kinds of non-sense went down.you're gonna get all sorts of stuff in vegas at levels like that

I don't see anything wrong with calling him out on breaking those rules.Maybe it could throw him off his game a bit.Besides, he was being annoying...so **** him. Seriously...right in the ass.

Ya, perhaps he was being an ass, but where do we draw the line at ass, or drunk, or loud, or having fun??its a game inside a casino with rakes or session fees. The only difference from black jack is you are playing other players and not the house. So should we also stop any form of cheering at the black jack tables? I mean, when i'm losing at black jack i dont wanna hear the jerk beside me chant out "21 !!!!" (incase you dont get where i'm goin, its about having fun, and you should be having fun. If you're playing in vegas to make money, i suggest a different casino where the dealers are a bit more strict and informed, or higher limits"

It takes too much energy to have to police the table. Let him steam the rest of the field. Unless his bafoonery is giving him an unfair edge, let it ride.A card that lands in my lap I would have tossed to the dealer.In low limit guys are constantly grabbing a stack and dropping off a bet instead of what looked like a raise. Annoying, not a string bet, or illegal.

Well its not allowed to have 2 players per hand, but it is allwoed to show a friend your hand by lifting your hand and having them peek.look at mike caro's tips and you'll notice he prefers when a player does this, because he gets information from the 2nd person viewing the cards reaction.

Why didn't the dealer short stop the problem and eliminate your need to police the table?Because 90% of dealers are putzes that are only interested in trying to set the club record for hands dealt in an hour so they can move on to the next tip.

When I'm sweating my friends and they give me a peak at their cards I always scream at the top of my lungs and do a cartwheel even if they're just folding preflop. I don't know if it's a tell or not. I just like showing off my cartwheel.

Yea the dealer wasn't saying much at all -- even when the guy would show boat a hand for 5 minutes before folding.It was because the guy was a local.That is what sorta got me goin even more -- because a local is who called the technicality on me at the tournament, and this dude was a local and getting away with BS too...so i just kinda got stupid on that @ss!! hahaha

If he was a donk I'd probably let it ride and wait for the chips, otherwise I'll complain at every opportunity against someone that's annoying me.
