  1. I don’t think the punishment is too severe, but then I don’t chat very often anyway. Why can’t people be more polite, in that situation you could have just written – “Congratulations on winning that hand but you really shouldn’t have played it that way. You were too much of an underdog, maybe I can recommend a couple of excellent books to improve your play.” Why in a game where you profit from someone else’s mistakes are so many players criticizing other players for making mistakes?Don't tap on the fish tank!
  2. I always have trouble deciding when to leave. It's usually "one more orbit" followed by another and another. I finally left a live game I was in yesterday after 11 hours because I knew I was too tired to play my best. I happened to be ahead so it was a little easier than if I was down but the reasoning is the same. The game was still good but I could tell that my play was dropping off too much.
  3. Full Tilt also lets you chose the look of your table and background. If PM could do that then the blue would no longer be a problem.
  4. I agree that this is a wonderful situation. At that point poker is both very fun and easy. The problem I have with these types of players is that they have so little knowledge of the strength of their hands I have made bad laydowns to inferior hands. If they were bluffing or simi-bluffing then it's OK but I think they just have no clue most of the time. The problem is worse for me in a tournament than a cash game but it's never a good thing.
  5. First off you should know that the 100% deposit is not instant. You have to earn the bonus 20% at a time based on the rake from the tables you play. At the lower limits that can take a while. I don't play as much as most, probably 5 - 10 hours a week and I was only able to earn 40% of the depost before the time period ran out. I like the site but you should read the details about the bonus closely.
  6. I use a post-it note. All the other things I tried fell off the computer screen.
  7. I've seen Blue Man Group in Chicago and Las Vegas. The show in Vegas is very good. I would put it ahead of Penn & Teller.
  8. I've seen both O and Penn and Teller and O was by far the best show I've ever seen in Vegas. Highly recommended, it's just too expensive to see over and over.
  9. McManus did say in an interview later that it wasn't just the raise in the dark move that prompted his "disrespecting the game" comment. I don't recall all of the things he mentioned but there were several that didn't make the TV show. Like was mentioned earlier, editing makes all the difference.
  10. I may have missed something along the line but least we forget poker is Daniel's job and haven't we all had times when we don't get up for our jobs or do the best work we can. I'm having one of those times right now. I'm sure he loves his job but being competitive you can't always be at your best. It's more emotional than logical. I appreciate his honesty. Thanks Daniel for your comments and I hope you can find that excitement again soon.
  11. I feel bad that I only had 8 from list of 15. I did have one or two not on the list. I have a question for everyone who has read Phil Hellmuth's books, basically what did you think of them? I read Play Poker Like the Pros and was fairly disappointed. I expected to learn more about what a pro thinks at the table and instead I got some pretty interesting stories and some questionable strategy. I feel that Hellmuth’s strengths are reading other players and maybe that doesn’t translate into a book very well. Let me know your thoughts. I love the technical nature of Sklansky’s books and the
