I was in the 180max $12 sit n go turbo on stars, this is how the hand went down. Blinds 500-1000, im in the bb with 5500 plus 1000 out there. its folded to middle pos. who limps, he has 13500 every one folds to me, i have k6 off, i check. Flop comes aak, i push, he auto calls with a4 of diamonds. The table was playing pretty tight, was this the wrong move to push here, what should i have done?thanks
Strat forum. If you are going to risk your tournament on a flop like that you should just be shoving preflop with your M of <4. When your M is that low, your goal is to be first in the hand with a shove, the cards don't matter. Since you were in the BB and got a free look, it just depends whether you feel like gambling. It's probably pretty close on whether you are ahead or behind here. People tend to limp here with weak aces or low pocket pairs. So for me,Best choice: shove preflop (he'd call, you'd lose, sign up for next tournament)2nd choice: check/fold, and hope for first in vig in the next couple hands3rd choice: shove on the flop, as you did2nd and 3rd are close, anything besides these three is terrible.
