I just don't understand the enthusiasm for the shins. "they're back, man!" how can you differentiate the single from everything they did previously?

This is about a decade after it was cool to say this, but I really just don't care about the Shins anymore. That Dr. John record is fire. Love the man.

Happy Record Store Day! There are some pretty awesome things being put out. A friend of mine is already waiting in line outside of Other Music in Manhattan because a few of the things he wants are extremely limited. The store opens in 4 and a half hours. But they don't just open the doors and let a flood of people in - at the beginning they let 4 people in at a time, so if he's right at the front of the line (which I'm sure he is) he basically gets the run of the place until he's done shopping. Also Four Tet is DJing there this afternoon, which is awesome. The entire shop is about 100 square feet though, so I imagine they'll have speakers set up outside or something.

grimes
We are all so complicated, and then we die. We are a subject one day, with our vanities, our loves, our worries, and then one day, abruptly, we become nothing but an object, an absolutely disgusting pile of shit. We pass very quickly from one stage to the next. It's very bizarre. It will happen to all of us, and fairly soon too. We become an object you can handle like a stone, but a stone that was someone.

The more I listen to it the more I love it. I think Ice Age and Kingdom of Izzness are my favorite tracks. My nuclear vision is everybody's businessI also love the way he sings, "ain't no age of innocence" on Ice Age.

Amanda Palmer's cover of 'Creep' is fucking sexy.(her joking introduction is because it was apparently recorded during a soundcheck)
