Binbs 0
I play online on the Prima poker network.Mostly Holdem No Limit. I'd like to know what everyone looks for when looking for weakness in an opponent. Of course betting pattern has a lot to say. But what signs do you usually look for regarding post flop play?Im asking this primarily because usually when I feel like I have the best hand but I cant be for sure, I end up checking the flop instead of betting and feel that I am losing out on cash winnings and also the fact that I would rather have my opponents fold to me than see my hand at showdown just to give them as less info about my play as possible.NL Hold em is all about reading your opponent, even online. Aburame Shino 0
It's all about memorizing and taking notes on your opponent's game style. For example, an opponent I played against maybe two days ago always bet small with his winning hands. So when he started to bet big on hands, I caught on and managed to win a lot of hands (and money) from him.I just look for differences in their gamestyle. It works well in online games where tells are hard to find, but for some reason it never seems to work in my home games.
Mandelbrot 0
Try to get them chatting. It can be pretty telling sometimes. Aside from that, betting patterns and card selection relative to position and blinds.
JistTheFist 0
a lot of times I can get a lot of information about someone based on the amount of time it takes them to place a bet/call/raise etc... however sometimes this can do more damage then help if they're multi-tabling because all of their actions are gonna take different amounts of time. FOOSE1 0
Betting patterns . . . betting patterns . . . betting patterns!!Watch everyone at your table - keep notes! Watch the ones that always raise pre-flop with good hands. Watch the guys that always slow play big hands. A real important tell is how much they bet. Let's say a guy bets $3 pre-flop & you call. Then he bets $4 on the turn and you call. Now the river gets here and he bets $1 or $2. This USUALLY means that he didn't hit anything but is afraid to quit betting or this means that the river card scared him (especially if a flush or potential straight is on the board). It may not always be the case but I have "stolen" a lot of pots making a big bet here with nothing and taking the pot.GOOD LUCK!
JimmyWellington 1
the biggest ones I see time and time again are these...1. minimum raise. Figure out why they minimum raise. Unless they seem like a good, tricky player, this is a huge clue.2. weak lead. After the flop, they'll make a weak lead into the pot. 100 bet into a 1000 pot. Usually this means that they're just trying to buy the pot (and doing a horrible job at it). Keep in mind that a lot of online players don't have a clue what pot odds, or anything along those lines are. If you think they're weak, raise it up to 500. They'll fold enough times that when they do have a hand and re-raise, you can throw it away and still be ahead.
