  1. i play multiple Omaha High/Low tables at once w/good efficiency. i find my decisions to be more str8-forward w/Omaha 8b than w/no limit holdem.when im playing NL tables, i can only play 2 tables simultaneously TOPS. lots of times i like to stick to one table tho and get familiar w/the players and their tendencies (at least before venturing off to another table at the same time).this is just what works for ME tho. you have to experiment yourself and see what works for you.-RRS
  2. i honestly have no intention of moving up in limits for a while.my bankroll wouldn't stand the swings at the higher NL/PL tables, and i feel like i have a much simpler time "harvesting money" at the lower limit tables.i was just curious how to get more disciplined with my bankroll now that it's starting to swell up a bit. what do you guys set aside into savings, etc.?i realize hot streaks don't last forever, so i'm curious how to best manage what i win so as not to deplete my bankroll, while still being able to put some aside for savings.being a winning player has only been a reality for me i
  3. im sure you were all expecting that i got outdrawn here (i thought so too before showdown!), but according to the hand history, one of my opponents had J 10 off suit, the other had J 3 off suit (god i love donks )i took down the pot w/my set of 6's (one of my favorite hands btw  )-RRS
  4. first, my apologies for posting this in the wrong forum. im so used to posting in this forum that i often forget there are others :lol:second, yea i dont like being results oriented either. i know this was a crappy hand to even speculate with (especially preflop).on the flop, however, i wanted to see exactly where i was in the hand w/top 2 pair. i more than likely should have folded to the raise, but (un)fortunately decided to remain in the hand.if i were him, i would have bet the pot on 4th street. my thought on 4th street was that he was trying to sell me the mortal nuts but at too small
  5. this hand came up at a .10/.25 NL hold'em table.PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) converterMP ($22.40)CO ($25.65)Button ($18.75)Hero ($9.45)BB ($20.80)UTG ($7.95)Preflop: Hero is SB with 6:spade:, 6:club:. 6. yea i know it was a junk hand, but i was already in the big blind and it was just one more bet to me. in a ring game, w/the same cards, my cards would have been in the muck regardless of me being in the big blind.don't hands like this increase in value when short-handed tho? of course that 6 makes it complete trash regardless, but i was just hoping to hit a flop.it actually turned out that the guy had the nut str8 (10 J) on the flop, and the 9 on the river allowed me to scoop the pot.i realize this is another horrible suckout (not to mention a horrible re-raise and call on the flop on my part
  7. now i'm not a high limit player, i mostly play the small blind structure NL holdem tables, and pot limit Omaha H/L (10 cent/25 cent blinds; i abide by the "invest a toothpick to win a lumberyard" strategy), but everything has been going really well for me these past three days. i don't think i've ever had a rush quite like this.i cashed out everything i had made online (was up several hundred dollars) and made a small deposit this week so it would seem like a freeroll (playing with my previous profits).well needless to say, i have built this up four times what i deposited in 2 days.now my que
  8. this hand came up short-handed.PokerStars Pot-Limit Omaha/8, $0.25 BB (4 handed) converterSB ($17.45)Hero ($32.60)UTG ($61.55)Button ($28.45)Preflop: Hero is BB with Q:heart:, 9:heart:, 6:heart:, K:heart:. 9. believe it or not, i had actually clicked fold when i saw the all-in bet on the river (i was multi-tabling, and it was getting late) but i hadn't released the left-mouse button so my hand didn't fold. luckily i noticed the 10 before releasing the button and ended up making the call that would have been a costly oversight :? -RRS
  10. absolutely not. i wasn't staying in the hand unless that 10 fell on 5th street.i was 100% certain that he was slow-playing a set or aces-up, so my strategy on the turn was to check/fold. thankfully he must have thought i was going to bet out again on the turn (little did he know), and i just so happened to make my miracle card on the river.in showdown he showed A J, btw.right before i called his all-in bet on the river i said to him "you're not gonna like it". needless to say, he ended up throwing a fit for the way i played my hand, and all i could say to him was that it was his own fault f

  12. well i've only ever played omaha H/L cash games, but decided to try a tourney tonight (as ive managed to be consistently successful at the cash tables). placed 15th out of about 500 ppl or so (45 places paid).i was really trying to make the final table but it just wasn't to be. went all-in as the short stack preflop (had about 10k left or so w/blinds at 3,000/6,000) w/A2 XX. i did this mainly because there were 2 ppl already in for 12,000.of course the low never came, so i was out in 15th.does anybody else play these 08b tourneys? and what do you think about this play at such a late stage
  13. <delete>meant to make a new post, as opposed to reply to this one  -RRS
  14. should have been a lot more aggressive on the flop in my opinion. minimum pot-sized bet.of course this can't assure you that this fella would have folded his 9's (especially at these low limit tables; seems like some ppl stick w/their pocket pair to the river praying to hit their trips) but the fact that you were planning on going all-in anyway is incentive enough to be more aggressive on the flop (in my book, anyway...)-RRS
  15. i like the 4x preflop raise, good attempt to get action (as it clearly did).honestly i don't mind the pot-sized bet on the flop either. better to have everybody fold to your raise than to bet a small amount that entices your opponents to outdraw you on the turn or the river.it's like everybody says, high pocket pairs like kings/aces usually win a small pot and lose a big one. better to pad your stack w/this pot than to let your opponents draw to their 2 pair/trips/pair their ace or possibly even make their flush (though i honestly believe at these micro-limits, somebody with a flush draw wou
