I Called In Sick Today

Recommended Posts

I have been on an eclipse vacation, so I'm sorry I didn't get to this sooner, but I agree with Napa completely about the AE's and Essay's trashbag cole hahns. Out here dressing like a lawyer from a 3 AM basic cable tv spot, not someone befitting his rank and station.

Shout out to Moody, Brvy, I used to listen to these christian radio dramas when I was a young believer that were put out by Moody. It's no Wheaton, but what can you do, the world needs ditch diggers, too.

The eclipse was beautiful, I saw it at Carhenge, as god intended celestial events to be viewed. I understand why it would seem dumb, to someone who didn't see the full totality. But I still am struggling to put into words the feeling I had, when I was staring straight up at the sun like that. I've never experienced anything like it, it was incredible.

and after 3 days, he is risen!

If you are paying $20 for a haircut, I imagine people assume you did it yourself anyway.

Pocket change cost me my first and only black girlfriend.   It was in the middle of a roaring poker boom and I was flush in ways most men don't even bother dreaming of. Money, it was like dirt to me

Scrolling through the guide on tv the other night I noticed ESPN2 had cornhole championship on. What's next, the tippy cup invitationals?

wasn't the cornhole part of the ESPN the Ocho thing?

Huh, it appears that may be the case. I was entirely unaware of this promotion. I blame all of you.

I got nothing.

I am going to a Vikings preseason game this Sunday. Buddy's dad has season tickets. Never been to an NFL game before, although I don't know if a Vikings preseason game counts as an NFL game.

Strat, do you have clients ask you about it? I haven't yet, but luckily if they do I don't need to know anything about it because th Bank would never allow it to be purchased or held on our platform. I would assume that will change someday, but for now I'm wholly ignorant on the cryptocurrency markets.

Best educate yourself.

Sorry, doesn't count.

An internet friend about my age just bought a retiring sole-practioners firm and I'm more than a little jealous.

Wait. Where is this internet friend from, and why are you cheating on us with other websites. You guys are my only friends.

The internet friend is from CO and we "met" here at FCP.

My buddies dad (MBD) is in a group who gets season tickets to the Wild and one of the guys also has Vikings tickets but couldn't make it last night so MBD got them and took us to the game last night. Was pretty cool. The stadium is pretty darn impressive even though I hate everything about how it came to be.

While there though MBD mentioned he was looking at buying a business in Miami but the books are admittedly cooked and he was wondering if I'd be interested in doing some forensic accounting for him. I said I'd be willing to help anyway I can and so now he's talking about sending me down there for a week to cosplay Ben Affleck. But I'm more than a little worried I'm in over my head already so I might be reading up on forensic accounting here soon. I told him that I'd basically do it for the cost of my expenses but he mentioned writing up so the seller would have to pay me and I said that'd be ok then. I'd gladly let that guy pay me $10k.

But about the books being cooked...so the guy is trying to sell the biz for $1.8mm but the F/S show an EBITDA of $15m. The dudes accountant signed off on a letter saying "yeah, the books are cooked, the real EBITDA is $600m and there's about another $100m done off the books every year", which is wild to me.

So, yeah, interesting stuff.

Just have him sign an engagement letter for Napa Don Consulting, LLC that waives any liability for his actions from the result of your findings.

I'd even throw in that you don't guarantee the accuracy of your results, but some people might frown on that.

Strat, I want to get a buddy a bottle of whiskey for helping me with some car stuff. Something in the $30-50/range that he probably hasn't had. He mostly sticks to "name" bottles

Thanks

Four Roses single barrel or small batch. Hard to go wrong. He may have had them before, but to go obscure, your budget isn't gonna work, and it's more likely to suck.

Pikesville Rye might also work. It's on the higher end and you may not be able to find it outside of a big store.

this show, OZARK, is pretty solid. but it rustles my jimmies that they're portraying the lake of the ozarks as some kind of redneck, white trash haven. i got a whole mess a cousins down there and they aint white trash.
