Question, Not Sure What Category To Put This Under

Recommended Posts

I have a friend, unfortunately its not me, that I think needs to look into getting staked online. He wasn't sure how to go about doing it other than with friends that know how good he is. Any advice? He primarily plays lower stakes, $6 to $24 range. He has played over 1100 tournaments and has an ROI of 36% and an ability rating of 76 according to sharkscope. Officialpokerrankings.com has him at 14k out of 510k players. He has netted a little over $2.7k and is up $3.7k over his last 600 tournaments.Does anyone know of guys that get staked to play low stakes poker online? If so, is there anything out there that he can look into? He plays a lot of live poker but would be willing to commit more time online if he could get staked.

post his results and poker tracker ev stats and graphs and everything on 2+2 or something (there is a section for it) along with the sharkscope/ tableratings/ whatever stats you can get and see if he can get a bidder. I mean the problem is nobody really wants to stake people if they dont know him at all so he should spend some time posting in all the forums and maybe people will at the very least buy pieces of his action.by the way 1.1K tourneys imo is not a huge sample, im mean it is good (ok it is very good) results but if it was up around like 5-8 K and he still shows like 30+% ROI then you know he is pretty legit imo, but i am not a tourney junkie so i may be wrong. I mean people wanna see a nice final table % not just breaking one or 2 tourneys huge. Not saying what he has done it not impressive but you really need to impress people to have this be serious imo

Thanks. I will tell him about it. Statistically speaking I believe 1100 is almost the actual number used for a sampling size. I have told him about this site as we discuss a lot of strategy. Hopefully he will do it.He had one cash for about $1500, but his chart goes up basically at a 45 degree angle w/numerous sit n gos and tourneys.

tell your "friend" it is ok to be broke and trying to play poker. Make sure your "friend" knows the the stakee will want him to put in a lot of work and effort into improving his game. Also, tell your "friend" that he might want to post strategy some places to have people see some of his thought process through hands

Lol, what's up with the quotation marks? He is far from broke. He is up over $8k in live play the last 6 mos, a couple grand online and it's not used to pay the bills. Me and a friend are thinking of staking him and I simply thought it might be worth it for him to look for more backers. You can look him up, his screen name is wildxxxcard and he plays on Full Tilt. Just asking for feedback based on what he has done over the past year or so. I wish I could sport those numbers but I only have a +6% roi and am down $200 over 2200 games so I know that I need to improve and that's why I ask for a lot of feedback here.

... so why does he want to be staked?

agreed. If he is that good why doesn't he just play on his own money and take full profit. This thread is confusing...
