How do you guys recommend playing against people who are playing 8-12 tables. I usually just avoid sitting with them altogether as there is easier money to get out there, but sometimes it's hard to find a table on PS that doesn't have at least one or two of these guys on there. Usually I try to stay out of their way unless I have a huge hand. Just wondering if anyone else has good tips for dealing with these guys.

QFTUsually guys playing multi tables are playing a more ABC, tight version of poker.

I only play 12 tables and I wouldn't play against me.

When I play 6-9 tables, I always play extremely formulaicly. I rely on PAHUD and notes entirely.

Why avoid players who are distracted, playing close to the maximum table number, and predictable?

Because even while 12 tabling, they'll almost always be winning players.If you had 9 people who were all 12 tablers, you probably should find another table. If it's just one, it's no better or worse than having someone you consider to be 'good' at your table.

but knowing who they are is very valuable. a multi-tabler will rarely bet without at least a good piece (except a continuation bet), will almost always play formulaically, and do not like to be played back at.most people multi-tabling LHE will not react well to being played back at. once you establish some patterns, you'll want to play back at them more often.of course they'll generally be playing good cards, and be good players, so you don't want to get in there way too much. at a full table, i generally avoid them until you've picked up specific patterns. shorthanded, you can probably outplay them.

In my experience there are many of them who just play AA, KK and QQ. Which is why I usually just get out of the way. Why call a preflop raise if I already know I'm behind?

Wouldn't these people be likely to fold to a big bet though? If I was 12-tabling and trying to nut pedal, I would be scared by someone who played back at me.

As someone who plays nothing but 12 tables of 100 NL on pokerstars, I know all of the other players who are playing 8-12 tables...almost 100% of them are good and always have monster stacks....I tend not to get in their way, they tend not to get in mine.I think there is a misconception that its difficult to play 12 tables and play them well. I play 12 tables, watch tv, talk on msn, and surf the internet. When you have done it for hundreds of hours you become very good at quickly seeing that you've been delt cards and normally are going to click the auto fold button. There is a tremendous amount of down time on each table where you don't have an action to make and can take your time on hands where you do have a decision. I've never felt rushed to make a decision and honestly don't think I've made a poor call where if I wasn't on 11 other tables I wouldn't have made it. I've made lots of bad calls, but not due to distraction.I realize that not everyone can play that man tables, stay focused, and be comfortable enough moving the mouse around without misclickin often, its not the easiest thing to do and there's nothing wrong with playing a small amount of tables, but if you practice it and slowly add more tables I think most people who are skilled at poker would be able to handle it.

Play them like anyone else.I 8 table and have no problem seeing who is trying to take advantage of my 8 tabling. I'm also not *that* busy in a full ring game. I wish FTP allowed you to sit at more tables. But if it's a short handed game and they're 8+ tabling, there should be a lot of room to put moves on them since they have to make decisions quickly.One thing that you do not is the vast majority of 6+ multitablers are TAGs, else they'd be too busy with all the action they're giving getting. Dunno if that helps much.

The number of tables that I play ranges between 3 and 8, it depends on how I feel at the time. Beause of this thread I've taken more notes on who are the big multitable players at my limits.Hope it will help, you really have to get out of there way sometime as they play primo hands TAGishly.Is it possible to be a LAG on 12 tables?

watch out for the people that have like a 3-8% VPIP, some of them are pretty good. Also they only play premium cards. So I like to call with pairs only and try to flop a set and bust them.
