Daniel Now Ranked #1 On The Global Poker Index

Recommended Posts

Congrats! Guess that's why he thinks people will be willing to pay $29 a month for PokerVT to watch the 5 minutes of video a week he's doing. Yep, he's really doing ONE 5 minute video per week and there are no other pros doing any content anymore.

I have to say those are some good 5 minutes but really?

I haven't paid for it for years, LOL Daniel doesn't have any of my money to rub on his titties.

I think the last time I paid for it was over 2 years ago.

No way I'd pay for that! I need my money to lose at poker.

It's really sad to me tbh. I've always had a soft spot for PokerVT because it's where I first learned to play. I made lots of great friends and even found this forum through there. I've always been a huge fan of Daniels and I just really hate the neglect that PokerVT has suffered over the last few years. I've told "the powers that be" what I think and no one cares. It's beyond ridiculous that the only content posted since August 5th is a total of 12 minutes of stuff from Daniel on his bracelet win. Like I said it's good stuff but 5 minutes a week, it's just unreal that anyone thinks people are dumb enough to pay for that. Don't think I'm exaggerating that's exactly what it is, 5 minutes a week. There are too many good training sites out there and they churn out serious content volume and it's quality stuff. Daniel is a great player but no one with a brain would keep paying for that.

I've never had anything to do with Poker VT so I don't know what's going on with the lack of new videos but if somebody isn't happy with the content they always are able to cancel and stop paying if they have a current membership.

For somebody who would be joining up new there still would be hundreds of videos that are new to them that are high quality and when they join they have 72 hours to check out the videos for free and if they don't like what they see they can cancel without paying anything.

Hopefully they'll get back to putting out new content on a regular basis like in the past and if they don't they'll pay for it with people not keeping their memberships for long but I just wanted to point out that somebody new would be able to check everything out without having to spend any money and somebody already there can cancel if they aren't happy.

I don't think anybody except for maybe the original Card Runners guys who had that agreement with Full Tilt have made significant money with training sites and everybody involved with training is probably counting on increased legal poker in the US creating a new poker boom to grow the market for the future.

I agree with you Bob, for the most part. People don't like it they can cancel but as for new people, as far as MTT content goes, there has been practically no quality content for about 2 years. As we all know poker is a rapidly evolving game, what was good strategy pre Black Friday may not work as well today. So much of the old content is outdated. Not saying for some players they can't get something from the site, I'm sure they can but watching the last 2 years of David Redlin's MTT videos isn't going to teach anyone anything except how to nit fold 89.9% of your hands, I've won more than he has since Black Friday (no brag intended, just saying).

That's the premise PokerVT is operating on, that's there is tons of videos available, but only new players who don't know better are going to be interested in watching those. Personally when I use any training site I rarely watch any videos more than a year old unless they are something different than the typical training video. I just think with Daniel's new ME bracelet and great run over the last year he could really capitalize on that and bring PokerVT back to life, if he would just get someone in there who has a clue how to properly run a business. Also with new poker legislation in play it's a great opportunity to really turn things around. I just think when you put your name on something you should care whether it's successful or not.

Sorry to derail this thread, back to big congrats to Daniel!

Congrats Daniel however you need to look at not Just PokerVT but other aspects in your life. Not playing the WPT in Montreal shows a ton of disrespect for your Canadian upbringing. I think when the hair got implanted you lost a lot of compassion, plus other qualities needed in life.

PokerVT will never survive. If you think just new videos of you winning bracelets will work , it will NOT. You had a great staff of young pros that have left, too bad.

The lost of new content will not get seasoned players who want to keep their game changing with the times on the site.

Maybe because I am getting older I am getting more cynical, either that or reality is really setting in. I wish you luck in all future endeavours. Respect comes and goes in many ways but earned it the most satisfying. If you think money or bracelets will buy happiness your more disillusioned than I thought.

Not playing in a Canadian poker tournament shows disrespect to his Canadian upbringing? That is the biggest load of horseshit I have ever heard. That is bad even for you rcgs. I know you have a lot of pride for your country, and you are overly-obsessed when it comes to the poker world, but there is absolutely nothing disrespectful about not playing in a stupid poker tournament no matter where it is being hosted.

Dang, I really thought I had a shot at it this year...

I think DN was actually leading these rankings, as well as the WSOP POTY, at a point when he was having both a losing year and a losing series, so maybe you do still have a shot.

So you are an optimist, eh?

Nah, once he had his $Million score at WSOP-APAC that wasn't possible. He cashed for over $1.6 Million on the year before WSOP in Vegas started. You are correct that he was down for the WSOP in Vegas though.

Ole Schemion with a great year will push Daniel back to 2nd place in the GPI Player of the Year

Daniel's still had a pretty good year though. He only played tourneys in 2013, no cash games.

Gives a pretty good idea how much the buyins are by the end of the year.
