  1. I mean lets face it... he acts like a goober. However, I like the fact that he is:A.) trying to create a table image unlike any other pro playerB.) draws so much attention to himself... (and away from the game at hand) that it is obviously to his benefitC.) obviously doesn't give a rats-ass what anyone else thinks of his antics because they are helping his bottom lineD.) gets the crowd to cheer for him, which has to have some psycological effect on the ppl he is playing.
  2. I think it is just that you are anxious to play...Like most of us you obviously enjoy poker so you prob look forward to playing... so when it's finally time you are a little too loose, and a little unfocused. This happens to me before a big event... like a bg tournement or something. So what i usually do is go online and play maniacal poker for play money... just to get it all out of my system.
  3. Check out:Killer Poker: Crushing The Online Game For a good book on this very topic
  4. I agree with the last couple posterd...Smash makes a good point. For those posters that hate the show... why the heck are you wasting your time even talking about? I mean... You don't like the show, so don't watch it... and don't waste your time talking about not liking the show... whats the point? It's all a matter of preferece . it's not like anyone here is right or wrong. It's just a matter of opinion.... like... should you slow play AA under the gun.
  5. CSI most ppl think its a great show...But you know forensic scientist say, "thats crap..." because it's unrealistic.Any cop show... most cops think "sucks".Computer hacker movies... Real IT guys think are terrible. It's just the nature of this sort of thing... obviously anyone at this forum knows more about poker than the average joe on the street...therefore ppl think Tilt sux because it's unreal...But if Tilt was about a couple of old leather assed cowboys playing poker and it looked realistic... how enteraining would THAT be?Not at all... So realize that ppl who know little about poker thin
  6. Without sh!tting on you (or your friend.. or whoever). You did alright pre-flop... the post flop bet wasn't even all that bad (maybe he had a mid pair that he could get away from when the ace flopped). But once you got raised you should have dumped the hand... you had nothing... no real draws to anything... Your KT suited (which is a good hand 4-handed) turned into 7-2 after the flop.
  7. Sure I agree...I play poker plenty... and i know the stuff portayed in the show is BS. Like the dialoge during the hands for example... but it's entertaining nonetheless... I mean if you want a "realistic" show about poker. Watch WPT. Doesn't get more realistic than that.If you just want a fictional drama about poker players (which is what this was advertised to be) than there you go...I think a lot of people that don't like the show got WAY too hyped up for it to come out and were inevitably disapointed.I really like watching it so I can bust out with Tilt Quotes when I play... some of the sh
  8. I think I pretty much answered most of those questions...If your rate of return is THAT high than yes you fold AK... That would be similar to you winning the $30.00 buy in by playing a $1 tournement for a seat... in that case folding the AK to make a $49.00 profit is fine. That is not the case... you did not win the $30.00 seat in a $1.00 tournement... Nor did you win the $30.00 in a slot machine. You forked up the $30.00 buy inIn that case... If you believe that even if you double up in that spot you will still not be able to win a prize larger than the $50.00... it is correct to fold.However..
  9. AQ, AJ, TT, 99... are all foldable in that situation but they are also a lot weaker...You keep saying 8,000 is not that big of a difference but what you are continually over looking is... what if you pushed in got called by the big stack at the table who was holding KJ and you ended up doubling up.Now your holding 12,400.00
  10. A few reason I haven't/probably won't do this:1) I don't have a table (or the two I can push together) big enough to do this.2) When I did a table of 10, a few of the people I have play every week mentioned they perfered to play at smaller tables (even 8 or less). I want to keep them semi-happy, so they keep coming and I can keep good games. But, thanks for your suggestion.makes sense.
