gruven 530
I think the refs made the right call on the third goal in game 5 on the kesler holding the pad goal?
Dubey 1,035
yeah. Kesler probably held his pad on purpose, but I think people kinda see what they want to see there (myself included). He was definitely shoved in, and pretty much kept there by Nurse. It was a mad scramble. I don't think they can overturn a goal there to be honest.

I agree with you and fwiw I think the NHL has lost the plot on goalie interference. BUT.. regardless of nurse, independently of that in fact, kesler held his pad, talbot couldn't close up and that allowed the puck through. To me, that's literally the definition of interfering with the save. his move, which had nothing to do with nurse knocking him down or even holding him there, prevented the goalie from making a save. Dubey 1,035
Kessler had 2 hands on his stick the whole time. Was he obstructing on purpose once he realized he'd been shoved into a favourable position? Quite possibly. Is it conclusive goalie interference? Not even close IMO. I agree the rule isn't totally clear but given the onus that has always been there regarding overturning a call on the ice, the refs made the correct decision on that play. But in the end, your and mine are just amateur opinions. Refs get things right such a huge percentage of the time I'm willing to defer.

Zach6668 513
After getting shelled early, that still may have ended up as one of the best periods the Pens have played in a while.
Zach6668 513
The Pens are making so many junior league turnovers. Caps are fast to press, but some are just so outrageously bad.
mrdannyg 274
I don't know who is doing the NBC feed that I'm watching, but the play-by-play guy is excellent. Also, this is the first I've watched the Pens, but, as a team, they look...not good? Seems like pucks keep getting put just to open ice or corners, and they don't know where their teammates are or are going to be without just looking around. Feels like they've never played before and coaches didn't put in a system, don't think I've seen a clean breakout yet.
mrdannyg 274
Also, what's with all these guys that look like Zach? We all know about Kessel, but Hornqvist too and at least a couple others

Dubey 1,035
I have a deep hatred for the oilers organization stemming from the way my brother was treated, mostly by Mactavish, on his way out of town. Also, I was subjected to watching hundreds of games of that shitshow that slowly built up a resentment in me. Plus, I think they've made every wrong decision in the last 6-7 years and then luckboxed into the best player in the world and got a complete reprieve and they don't deserve to win. Years of terrible hockey decisions and croneyism doesn't deserve to be justified now.

Babying 613
You may have a hatred for someone because of what happen. I did for he new president from my old employer. He was the reason I quit. I should thank him since I went on my own. (Excuse me while I barf from saying this) Now with Kessel he got a cup Devan got a chance to showcase his skills which turn into a life changing contract So all is good
Dubey 1,035
True, but Mactavish doesn't get to take credit for Devan's success, nor does Shanahan for Kessel's. And I will continue to be bitter because it's sports and I don't have to be forgiving and understanding with sports
