Is this the twilight zone? Did I miss page one? What's this about Rose and her start date, I feel so confused....Well I played the 100K on Merge (satted in) and a few other games, all the Sunday gtds are up so some nice games now - hit the bad side of variance in most everything (didn't play much so no surprise there) but ended up $10 thanks to a $5.50 45 turbo 3rd place. My bankroll on Merge still sucks - 4 months of running consistently below EV will do that. :(Would anyone have played this any differently - he was pretty tight but raised bvb and btn v blinds a reasonable enough amount. After I 3 bet which I think is fine I was committed, so pretty sure just unlucky but any opinions are welcome. absolutely fine with these stacks.raise - calling >> shove here and folding shouldn't happen.

The only thing I'd do differently is 3 bet shove instead of just 3 bet raising, with my stack I think that seems better. It wouldn't of made any difference in the outcome but I'm not worried about the results just how I played it.

Here is another hand I'd like some opinions on - I'd post in strategy but no one seems to go there :-)This was a PokerVT home game for play money but prizes from PVT for top spots and HH review for top players for the month. Villains blind defense is kind of wide imo? Also pot odds were 2.1:1 after my shove and if he put me on TPTK or TP 2nd kicker mb or a set or overpair, which is all that made sense since I'm pretty much a nit, he had 33.5% equity against that range after my shove, he snap called me. If you add bluffs with AK or AQ then it's more like him 41% me 58%. My 4 bet shove is aggressive but I really didn't put him on a set or anything better than TP worse kicker or, what he had, a draw. Not worried about result just questioning my play and his, I don't have much problem with mine actually and I see where he's coming from but I was just interested in some opinions. Playing draws is one of my biggest weaknesses and this is a decent draw example imo. So, how did villain get such a big chip stack?? Was he making plays like this the whole time, or did he happen to catch some monster hands? Even if he played ATC against you HU and planned on losing, he still would have a respectable chip stack for the table. Also, you said you were playing pretty nitty. Where you playing LP nitty as well, or where you opening up a bit? Not that it should matter after the flop here, because you said he snap called when you shoved. This was a play money game, but even with PokerVT members, should have taken it a little seriously. Ballsy snap-call to me, but with his big stack, I can kinda see it.

Welcome back shag! Thanks I agree with his stack he could well afford to take the gamble and getting 2:1:1 on a call with an OESD and BD FD he had a lot of outs. I was running about 22/18 - my standard stats pretty much, I do open up more in LP and I had over 100 hands with him. He said he put me on a tight range here but I have no idea why he would. He got his stack by getting super lucky, like he did here.

Welcome back shag!
Thanks Guys and Gals!! Glad to be back. Spent the past 6 months reading Daniel's books, and lots of CardPlayer and Bluff. CardPlayer is a great strategy mag BTW. The live game they had there was the worst structure and players ever. Basically Bingo Poker. Would luck up sometimes and get control of a TV late at night and catch some WPT Season 9, PAD PLO, and some of the WSOP from this summer. So, where are most of the US peeps playing at these days? I still had $1.30 in my Cake account from a year ago or so. Been grinding on that. Ready to get back. After reading/studying for 6 months, I feel like the light has come on a bit brighter.

Did you ever open an account with Carbon, Lock of Players Only/Sportsbook? If you have any old account with any of the Merge skins you can deposit and play there, it's where most US people are playing. If you don't have an existing account they currently aren't taking new US players. There is also Bodog which probably the 2nd biggest US facing site. Cake is pretty much a desert waste land still.

Yeah, Cake is pretty much low stakes cash games only. I've been playing the .02/.04 game. Got a BR of like $2.70 after about 1 hour of work. :)I still have a verified sportsbook account. Mostly did sports betting there, but played a freeroll tournament one time. I might have setup a bodog account several years ago. Would have to check. I thought I read Bodog was suppose to pull out of the US market later this year??? Thanks for the info.

The Bodog brand is leaving the US market but the primary company or licensing company or something is supposed to continue under a new name. You can use your Sportsbook account to play on Merge and I was able to use my VISA debit card on Carbon to deposit and you can also do Western Union.
