Ron_Mexico 4,219
Freud would have a lot to say about that list, Ronny. A lot to say. Totally. And he'd be right.
InternetExplorer 2,609
Portly is a good word I haven't heard of that card arrangement. Sounds like the gimmicky bank perks based on certain dollar amounts, certain transactions, etc. Hated that shit as a teller, people were always confused and irate. We had this one teaser rate, 4% on a certain kind of checking account at one remote location, just trying to capture all of the business in that micro town. Word got out, and a lot of idiots made the hour long trip, and then the bank nixed the deal. My theory is that they were not aware that the account type was around anymore, and only noticed because it started to hit the P&L on that branch. I do not do any deals like that, even though I could almost certainly earn a spread on the margin against my brokerage account. I am lazy, and don't like spinning people's wheels. One of the partners at my firm, a guy who makes $500k+, was telling me that he basically changes credit cards multiple times per year, just to exploit all the new offers. It just doesn't feel like that's +EV given his hourly rate.
brvheart 1,752
I flew from Texas to Iowa for the week, just got back home. I haven't been here for almost 3 weeks (as of this Saturday). That's too long to be away from home base. I think I'll take a few more weeks off work just sitting around the house. That sounds nice. (I go back to work July 19th)
CobaltBlue 662
Yeah, I was always terrible, and stopped enjoying it years ago. Of the guys from here with a demonstrated ability to make a living at poker, I don't think any of them play professionally anymore. Guys like Zach, Grinder, Bizzle, Zimmer, and Cobalt. I don't know if we would count looshle as an FCP guy, but I think he still plays regularly. I mean, there are still some that still play and do really well. Acid Knight and cwik are big examples. Granted, there are almost none that play online primarily anymore. I still make the bulk of my income from poker at the moment...but I am looking elsewhere.
Napa Lite 3,278
My roommate is trying to hook me up with a friend of a friend, or something like that. She's cute. We'll see how this goes.
Essay21 2,385
Good luck kid. I hope your cards are live and your orgasms are monsters. For poker, I almost entirely lost interest. I'm not good enough to play higher, and the money in a 1/2 game doesn't keep focused, and so I play badly while knowing I'm playing badly. If I'm going to play I need to go all the time because once a week leaves me with no patience at the table. I feel like I have get some action now and I'm calling off with gutter balls for 50 bucks for no reason.
CobaltBlue 662
The last time I played live poker was March of 2016...and have only played it 3 times since July 2015.

CobaltBlue 662
Dunno how much you guys are interested in cryptocurrencies, but I'm getting back into some speculation. AntShares looking primed to jump in a few days.
InternetExplorer 2,609
There are many random millionaires as a result of bitcoin, and those stories are going to circulate and spark interest in cryptocurrencies for the rest of time. It's over, though. The possibility of the exponential returns with minimal risk (consumer grade computing power, basically) is a distant memory at this point. The next big thing is not foreseeable, which is the same as it ever was. Just my opinion of course.

The next big thing is not foreseeable, which is the same as it ever was. Just my opinion of course. Oh, I don't think there's minimal risk at all. And I'm not talking about mining. Just an interesting currency/opportunity. AntShares earn dividends in the form of AntCoins. They're also having a conference for them on the 15th and will be getting listed on a new exchange. Just think it's a chance for a short-term jump. I've picked up some with a plan to take a short-term shot while retaining some others. That said, I still have a decent bit of BTC and a few others too.

Essay21 2,385
I didn't even know they was coming to KC. To be honest, I'm not a live music person. I'd rather go to a taping of the bill Simmons podcast, so no, I won't be going. Plus I don't have anyone to go with. But i do enjoy their music.
