You could ask a floorperson at the Bike. From what I understand, the downside is that you play with your own cash and you could lose. Here's what I found in 30 seconds of searching:http://www.poker-bab...om/prop-player/

I would love to hear how much they pay you. I can imagine it'd have to be a lot to make it worthwhile considering how heavily raked short handed live games are...

I worked at Commerce for three years as a Pai Gow Prop (very different gig) and I looked into being a poker prop at the Bike and at a little room called Club Caribe. The previous article makes good points and she was nice enough to chat with me a little more about it. To be a prop you must be very solid in all the games. You might be able to cover up a weakness in one or two games, but that's it. You also have to remember that it's a customer service job and they NEVER want to see you jawing with the players or trying to get into their heads. Seems obvious, but it can be a ***** when you are stuck at the table with a real jackass or someone you know you can get off their game.Bottom line, it's a good job for a tight, disciplined, well rounded player, but it will make poker feel more like a job than you ever thought possible.

Another big problem is that you dont get to pick the games you play in. You have to play in the games they want you to play which means you could sit next to the juiciest game in the world playing short handed with 3 rocks and all you can do is take it. So no ability to select the best games is a serious problem and could kill you bankroll which you must supply.

I think that Dave and Bart said they pay in the 50k range per year. Also you get health insurance...

"Let's have a last longer for whatever you can afford," says Benyamine. "So, like 2 bucks. No! Can we do $10?"

I've seen you play poker, don't do it.
I make $31,000 dollars a year and I have a home.

If you are a good short handed player it`s great, Bob Ciaffone was a prop player at the Bike and wrote in CP about it.Remember they pull you out of the game as soon as it get`s good.No idea how much they pay.

I think for a mid limits prop player, playing up to 40-80 they said they make about $30 an hour

I have played with Shirley many times...she is a damn good player. Not sure what the Bike was paying her but she was always hauling around a few racks of chips jumping from table to table...never stayed very long in one seat.

"obviously pokerstars is rigged...everytime your bankroll goes up, you will go on a huge bad luck streak. but if you use good bankroll management, then when pokerstars puts a hex on you - it won't affect your bankroll that much, and they will eventually give up, since you won't have to redeposit."
