and nobody had a club for the back door 4 flush

Thankfully not, but it was fun and the only time I can remember being in that flop situation.

I had the exact same thing with me having 8s, vs 3s and As, except I hit an 8 on the turn. And it was limit, capped every street

I was shocked one of them wasn't on a FD, nice win. I had a similar hand live, QQ vs 77 and 88, both 77 and 88 flopped a set and I turned one and the river paired the only other card on the board giving me top boat in a 3 way all in pot on the turn.

A post I made a few years ago about a friend of Serge's in a live hand with set over set over set in a 10/20 limit game.

My favourite Louis story.

Louis basically had no self control and would make Hellmuth look like a zen master the way that he handled getting bad beats. We often wondered if he would snap and Columbine one of the casinos one day.Louis basically played tight and unimaginative poker just like Serge when he wasn't on emotional tilt.

One hand he and 2 other players get in a raising war on the flop and turn and it's obvious that Louis has top set of Kings since he raised preflop and he would only ever go that many bets with the nuts. The board paired on the river and one of the other players now had quads. It turns out that all three of them had flopped sets.Louis became a mess of facial ticks and mumbled gibberish as he got up from the table and basically threw his chips at the cashier.

Was entertaining and scary at the same time since you really couldn't know if Louis was going to go off the deep end totally. To my knowledge Louis gave up poker many years ago long before the poker boom.

Once Live I was on the wrong end of a similar hand. I had Jacks, flop was A J 9. Pocket 9's was third best, we got it all in on the flop.

On this one I don't understand the BB?

Pre-flop he might think I'm steeling so thats OK,

I only call the 5 bet thinking if there is a K on the flop there is a slim chance that I can fold it.

On the flop I'm thinking that this is most likely a chop.

  • 1 year later...

I preferred the 1st one where you made your straight flush to the second one where you got turned.

On the first one he was probably shocked to get rivered by a straight flush after filling the boat on the turn.

On the second when I pot bet the flop I was hoping to get called by an over pair, din't like the board pairing much either.
