It's a common mistake when going from hold em to omaha. Ironically, your hand was much stronger then his pre-flop. Sometimes people get lucky though. I'm not sure if you said if this was Omaha Hi or Ohaha Hi Lo.

odds dont tell you everything. villain has basically no implied odds and is really only working with 1 combination. He's essentially looking for aset of 9s and some donk to pay him off with 2 pair. no offense, OP :club:

You should play at my game. Learn how to play in play money before you start actually playing is my suggestion. You can only use 2 cards from your hand and you must and can only use 3 cards from the board. And yes, if you were any fishier you'd be in a tuna can.

Was your friend in the blinds? What was he doing playing that crappy hand?

My point was that hand, Ac Kd Qd Td , wasn't much stronger than the other hand preflop in regard to Steve's comment, your hand was much stronger then his pre-flop . That's my only point. Will I play 9c 9d 6h 2h preflop? Hell no, they will be in the muck most most most of the time. :D Unless I have won tons of money or it's in a headsup situation.Edited: I re-read your post. Good points, "villain has basically no implied odds and is really only working with 1 combination. He's essentially looking for aset of 9s and some donk to pay him off with 2 pair"

yea, in terms of odds, its a cointoss. its pretty much a cointoss between any two omaha hands PF. the real value is in how much you can expect to win if you flop well. villains hand wont win that much when it flops well because no one else will like that flop (unless they have him beat).

what you don't realize, in omaha that is a big favorite. In Omaha no hand will ever be more than a 60/40 dog or favorite PF. So your caluclations don't really prove much to anyone who knows anything about PLO

I disagree, I will say that hand has a lot more potentials than the other one, but never a big favorite.In holdem if you've got AA vs 27o preflop, then your AA is a big favorite.OK, the following is just arguing for arguing's sake.cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EVAs Ks Ac Qc 334826 66.97 165174 33.03 0 0.00 0.6708s Jc 2d 5h 165174 33.03 334826 66.97 0 0.00 0.330You are 2 to 1 favorite now.

hehe we were just joking around, we each put 15 bux and decided to play everything BUT holdem, we actually won 45 playing 7 stud and 5 card draw. Only lost 10 w/ omaha. Its funny that even though you dont know the games, basic poker theory can help you out alot, at least it kinda did w/ 7 stud and 5 draw.
