  1. Exactly. I don't really care if villain is pushing ATC if calling and losing means I'm well below average and I double up the short stack. That's how I feel anyway.
  2. How short do we have to be before we give this up? I agree this is a standard call but I always face a dilemma as to when the 'cut-off' occurs. What kind of percentage of our stack does the raise have to represent before we fold?
  3. Got a weird feeling I was in the same SnG. Anyway I call this everytime unless I know villain is ultra-tight. Too often you'll see 88, 99, JJ even AK.
  4. Hmm. Does anybody else feel this hand was played really strangely by villain? He flat calls the raise on the turn and then check raises the river. Surely if he had KJ or a straight he would have to bet the river? There's no way he could be sure that you wouldn't check behind him if he had KJ and with a straight he'd either want to know where he is with a bet or he'd simply check/call. Not sure what to do but I'd probably end up shoving. Did you call?
  5. Just turn the chat off next time that happens. Some people think they have a divine right to win every coin flip.
  6. Shove. Simple as that. If the league guy criticised you for getting involved with the only guy who has you covered then I disagree with him. With the blinds as they are you have to be constantly building your stack. As MovingIn has already said, with these short stacks there'll probably be a couple of double ups and all of a sudden you're the one under pressure.
  7. I agree. I'd check the turn and flat call the river. It's possible that if the table has you tagged as aggressive then the big stack may check/call on the flop with a hand like A10/J just to see if you slow down on the turn. But I'd say 90% of the time on the river you are only getting called by a hand that beats you. Better just to call.
  8. Yep, once you bet ~3/4 of the pot on the turn you aren't folding so I'd just shove to, as Sheiky said, maximise fold equity. Sometimes villain flips over an unlikely set, sometimes he'll gamble with the flush draw but that's poker. You can't make any kind of meaningful bet on the turn which doesn't commit you to the hand and a check could be giving him a free card.
  9. I think SB is probably on some kind of draw because any kind of hand which has you beat now would have lead out or C/R. If it was just SB then you could bet out for his last 490.The problem in this situation is MP3 because of position more than anything. If we check then we could be giving them both a free card for their draws. Even if MP3 does not have a draw then we are giving him the initiative and we'll be faced with calling him down OOP not really knowing where we are. It's a difficult spot and there's no 'right' play but I would be betting out I think.
  10. Well if you think you get called by a range of hands when raising it to ~150 then you should probably just fold here. Raise or fold but certainly don't open limp in my opinion. On the flop I think you bet a tad too much but it's not a big deal.
  11. CRAI the flop? Yeh I can see the logic in that. Thanks for the advice.
  12. Firstly, sorry I can't use a converter but I will do my best to make the situation as clear as possible.BB = t100Hero = 1750Villain = 1400Average stack = 1500There are five players left.Dealt to Hero in BB: Kd QhPF: 1 fold, Villain raises to 200, 2 folds, Hero calls (pot = 450)Flop: Jc Kc 4dHero bets 220, Villain calls (pot = 890)Turn: Jc Kc 4d Tc (Hero has 1330 left)Hero?-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I have no reads on villain, he seems a straightforward player. The min-raise PF is not unusual as the standard raise has been 2-3BB.
  13. I'd play the turn the same. The pot is getting big relative to stacks and we only have a draw. See if he'll give us a free card.If we did bet then I think 400 is a bit more than we need to. Half the pot would probably have the same effect.
  14. If it's a set or top pair then he's played it very strangely. Looks like a flush draw to me. Bet about 2/3 the pot.
