Looks ok. Not optimal, but not terrible. I'd say raise the flop, but you know that. Maybe bet a little more on the turn. If he calls $8, he'll call $12 generally. His river bet looks like he might have stumbled across 2 pair or a straight, but he could also have a weaker K looking for a cheap showdown.

why do we raise the flop though? although we are not sure, due to my note it might be ok to say that he's an aggressive player. That being said I think we can call and raise the turn if he bets again. (I remember now thats why I called the flop). Also, don't you think raising the flop telegraphs our hand big time?

Calling is usually a telegraph..unless you always just call. I always usually raise, so it's hard for someone to know when I have air or a monster cause I'm usually raising with both. It's better to raise though. That's my opinion though of NLHE.Calling is ok in certain spots, obviously, butttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt I think raising first is usually a better option than calling first..and in this situation, I'd like a raise on the flop.- Jordan

60% of the time, it works every time. :club: Raising the flop builds the pot early with a strong hand. That's why we raise. We don't make much off an underpair or an 8 anyway, so we have to primarily concentrate on getting the most out of a weaker king or a draw. By getting more in on the flop against KQ/KJ or a flush draw, our bets on the later streets can be larger.

about how often are you raising with air after someone bets into you after you raised pf? do you save this play mostly for players you know or do you use it against unknowns as well?

I would raise that $3 bet with almost anything normally, almost regardless of the player (unless I have seen a trap with this kind of bet from him before with a strong hand). It looks very weak.
