Hey guys. I took some time off from playing after running bad and am now getting back into the grind that is poker. Figured I'd start throwing some hands up and getting some opinions on my play and reads. Typical .5/1 nl table lots of calling stations and passive play. Preflop good, flop good (maybe raise a little more to $10), turn good.His raise surprises me. He could have 2 pair, but JT seems to be the most likely holding. I don't think you can raise here, but 3:1 is too good a price to fold, especially with implied odds factored in if you boat up. Call.

I agree.What is your river play on 1) a blank, 2) when we boat up?- Zach

We have position, and there are so many variables it's hard to give a general line, other than 'if we boat up try to get all the money in' and 'if we miss try to get a cheap showdown'. We need to see what he does.

After the check raise I was sure he had TJ and not the diamond draw that I hoped he had. Unfortunately my poker instincts said fold when you're getting 3:1 and need 5:1. This guy almost certainly would've paid me off if I hit my boat and I'm still smacking myself a little for not calling. For discussions sake let's say I called and hit the boat. If he checks to me I value bet around half the pot maybe a little more or less depending on if it's a diamond that might scare him. If he bets into me I probably push but again depends on how weak his bet is, if it looks like he's scared I probably just double or triple it and hope he pays it off. On a blank I definitely go for the cheapest showdown possible.
