Leave out results. It might bias peoples opinions.I reraise preflop to something like 10. You want to get all the money in preflop with KK.As played, I'd certainly raise the flop. Otherwise, get it all in on the turn.

My heart sank a bit when the ace hit the turn. This is probably why I didn't reraise him all-in, and check/called the river. Do any of you get away from a hand like this? I'm guessing not.
You cannot get away from this hand. If I checked the flop, and I probably would have, I would have check-raised his bet. Raising it to $12 would have been my play, especially if you thought he had aces. He would have either smooth called or moved in as I am sure he would not fold AA or AK for that matter. In the end you would have lost it anyway even if he just called the flop reraise as you cannot fold on the turn just because you fear AA.The only way to possibly get away from the hand, and I would not fold, is if you reraised him preflop to $7 and he pushed. Then some would fold (I am not good enough to fold)

The way its played, normally I have to narrow it down to AK or AA, but then we take into account the stakes, and how bad we've seen players play at these levels. If I know this player is a tight, good player, its a fold.

Thanks for the replies. My opponent had AA this hand and took down the pot with a higher set. (Looks like that was revealed prior to my edit :club:)The reason for my passive flop play was I was sure I had my opponent drawing nearly dead with a big hand that would be hard for him to fold. Not only that, but I felt strongly that he would do the betting for me. With it being heads up I didn't feel a need to get overly aggressive without any likely draws and felt I could get him all-in on the turn. I figured it was likely he had either AA or AK. I was actually leaning towards AA based on his preflop mini raise. That and the chances of the case K hitting were less likely than AA. It's also a classic tell for a big pocket pair like AA or KK to make a mini raise PF at these limits. Once the turn hit I was 90% sure I was sunk which is why I slowed down and hoped for a value bet. But like Zach said, you can't be affraid of set over set on a board like this which is why I ultimately called.Had it been a multi-way pot I would have played it differently. Heads up is a different story. A lot of people seem to think speed is the only way to play a big hand to maximize value. I find that's not always the case. Especially when you have good reason to think your opponent will do the betting for you, which is what I felt here. I'm sure he still would have put in all his chips even if he didn't complete the higher set. Thanks again for the comments.

folding second set in HU cash $25 is probably never a winning play, unless the board has like 4 suited connectors on it
