All_In 0
http://www.thestar.com/living/article/8352...ke-things-worse"The political scientists worked with a group of 150 psychology students. The students were given a newspaper article from the 2004 presidential campaignabout President George Bush and his position on why the U.S. was going to war with Iraq. In it, he was quoted as saying there was a real risk that Sadam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction.Half of the students who read the article were also given a correction: an additional paragraph saying that, according to the Duelfer Report, while Iraq had aspirations to reconstitute its weapons of mass destruction program, it did not have any weapons of mass destruction during the U.S. invasion in 2003.The other half did not receive that information. Here’s what they found: Those who got the correction and identified themselves as liberals now believed there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Those who got the correction and identified themselves as conservatives were much more likely to say that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. In fact, said Reifler, those receiving the correction moved even more vehemently in the wrong direction. ""“One of the things. . . when people encounter discordant information is to find a way to deal with that information in a way that doesn’t threaten what they already know or believe,” Reifler explained. Any original thoughts? Are you actually non-troll-posting today?Pretty sure he's saying that the backfire phenomenon is the reason why people here still like Bush and believe Obama is not American, death panels, lies about healthcare. And aren't you like the king of posting articles without orginal thoughts? CaneBrain 95
Can you link to a study that explains why you believe everything Al-Jazeera tells you?Or perhaps a story condemning the bombing of Uganda by Muslim fanatics? (amazing that the world did not erupt in outrage like they did with the flotilla incident.....crazy.) Pretty sure he's saying that the backfire phenomenon is the reason why people here still like Bush and believe Obama is not American, death panels, lies about healthcare. And aren't you like the king of posting articles without orginal thoughts?I think that All_In and 85suited are a tie in that regard......although that schmuck in the global warming thread was coming on strong. Balloon guy 158
Got to love a study of 150 psychology students being used as a cross reference to America.Everyone knows that people major in psychology because they are too cheap to pay for their own psychological help. You want to know why people everywhere still like Bush?Because Obama has taken every screw up Bush has done to this country and made it ten times worse.Doesn't seem like such a big deficit of $800 billion when Obama is throwing around 4-5 Trillion

I'm intrigued as to his thought process on certain issues, but it's pretty confusing based on his posting style. It's kind of like asking seriousBG to really explain his thought process on certain things wrt religion. You don't expect a concrete answer, but you still ask.Regarding my posting habits, sometimes I do post a link without providing context or an opinion. I guess I feel like I try to bring something to the table, whether it's a story, chart or study, or some stupid libertarian nonsense from reason, even if I don't have an opinion one way or the other. I also feel that I am pretty transparent as to where I stand on issues, where all_in doesn't seem to take a stand on anything past trollish behavior. I'm sure some people think the same about me, meh.
CaneBrain 95
did i say it was justified??idiot.then what was your point? My point is when 9 Palestinian sympathizers die, everyone flipped their crap. But when Muslim extremists kill many many more, silence.

Balloon guy 158
This is a well-known phenomenon. but u religious people hate science, so it's understandable....Um..do you have a clue what you just said? Because the two things you just said are in conflict. And not some Arab /Jew conflict where one side is obviously right and the other side is arab,. No your points are both wrong AND in conflict. It's actually kind of amazing that you can be this wrong twice in such a short time span and not be congruent about it.i don't like obama either, just the same US arrogance and domineering worldview. That part he is right about. Only bowing to the Japanese and the Saudis makes him look really weak, Bush would never have bowed to no Japaneses PM!but to say he made bush's mistakes 10x worse is a gross overstatement.and to like bush because obama sucks is pretty lame and pathetic. You were the one who tried to make the silly point that there is a 'reason' why people still like Bush, I am just pointing out that your side ( the leftist idiots who can't think for themselves side ) your side hated Bush and told us 24/7 that Bush was evil and caused everything from hurricanes to herpes. Then when Bush leaves and one of your leftist thinking idiot pals takes over, everything gets substantially worse. So all the people on my wide of the thinking curve ( the ones that actually think and see the truth ) my people who were slightly beat down about their opinion on Bush have been vindicated and are now able to be much more public about our admiration for the man who probably saved the world from radical Islam. CaneBrain 95
funny, but his decision was probably tax related as well.this has been made too much of. I am sure it was a factor but people need to realize that he will still pay state income taxes for every road game he plays. So, it's not that big a deal. Plus, the property taxes on the mansion he buys will be ridiculous.I think South Beach/awesome team >>>>>> Cleveland/good team
