  1. See my sig. That seemed to get a big laugh at my home game.
  2. As far as online goes, I mostly play 3-6 limit, and am a winning player. I started with $300 on Pokerstars, turned it into 2k, then cashed out for a while. I made that money playing 3-6 and winning a few satellites. I play no limit live tournaments about once a week, usually a $25 buy-in with anywhere from 4-16 opponents. I'm not sure how much weight you'd put into this, but we've kept point standings (similar the the Negreanu Open), and I took home player of the year this summer against a mostly good group of players, as well as last fall against a different set of tough players. I also
  3. Just sent my money to kolman36. My screen name is SPTFounder.
  4. Hi, my name is Pedro. If you pick me for class president, all your wildest dreams will come true. Thank you.I know I'm not a big name on the forum, I mostly just read, but Mel Kiper Jr. has me as the sleeper pick of the whole draft. Just so you know.
  5. I've got one. Playing a small tournament with my friends a couple years ago- Flop is 666. Turn is a 6. River is an ace, so the nuts are on the board. I push all-in. My friend thinks forever, asking "Can anything beat that?" I tell my other friends to shut up and let him play the hand. Finally he folds, giving me the pot. Everybody explodes laughing and telling him how he had to call, of course. He didn't talk to me for two weeks, but it was well worth it.
  6. I'd be interested- it sounds like an awesome idea.
  7. I like all the games on the list, but haven't played any of the low ball games and only a very minimal amount of stud hi-lo. My favorite thing to do is to play mixed games, usually HORSE or HOSE, with my friends. That being said, I'd like to give 2-7 and others a try. I used to only play no limit hold 'em, but in the past few years have really enjoyed playing limit games, hold 'em especially.
  8. I think that's the problem with a lot of people, though. They're too concerned with making moves, bluffs, and fancy plays than actually playing good, solid, winning poker. If you're playing a beginner who is calling down with an underpair on a scary board, DON'T BLUFF. Bet your good hands and get paid off. It's easy.
  9. 4)people come to the game then try to claim that someone else has to buy in for them because they owe them money. So true- one of my bigger pet peeves.Just about everything everyone has said rings true. I ran a game at school and had to deal with people paying a $10 buy-in with $20s all the time- nothing gets me more than rabbit-hunting, though. After the first semester of the game, I instituted a rabbit-hunting penalty- $1000 in chips if you wanted to rabbit hunt.I hate, HATE when someone complains about the game that isn't a regular. If you want to give constructive criticism, that's fi
  10. Why does this event hold confidentiality and secrecy in such high regard? For every other major event in the poker world, we have cardplayer live coverage- all results are known well before the broadcast actually airs. Does anyone know why this one is so hush-hush?
  11. Has the Poker Superstars rumor been substantiated yet? Although I enjoy watching Mike play, I take some of what he says with a grain of salt. He may have just been planting that thought in people's minds- he knows everyone watches those tables and word would spread. Although Mike is hot right now, I think it would be a bad bet to bet on him for the 5-Diamond Classic. Yes, Mike is playing well right now, and yes he's on a good run- but those are just bad bets that the gambling sites offer you- he's still a long shot, no matter how hot he is.
  12. I got nicknamed "Siphylus" by a guy at my school, because when I was shortstacked, you just couldn't get rid of me. Don't worry, the nickname doesn't apply beyond the poker table.P.S. btlee, did you ever hear of the Stacy Poker Tour? How long ago did you go to Carolina? I graduated in May.
  13. I run a 4-handed HOSE tournament at my house every once in a while. We usually start with 10 or 12k, with limits at 100-200 for hold em/omaha, and a 25 ante, 50 bring in, 100/200 limit on stud. Every 8 hands (two rounds) we switch games, and levels go up after each game has been played. It works pretty well, and even with only 4 people, we usually play for about 5 or 6 hours. Our levels go 100/200, 200/400, 300/600, 400/800, 500/1000, 600/1200. Hope this helps.
  14. Who made you the moral police? I could ask you why you're not out helping people instead of posting on an Internet forum. Are you Daniel's wife, accountant, or lawyer? Didn't think so. Don't tell him what to do with his money or time. Look at yourself first.
  15. I wouldn't mind seeing a Veteran's Forum. I've been here a while, but I mostly read, not post. It can be tough sifting through some of the nonsense that gets posted. Also, banning a lot of the people that just come to start trouble would be fine by me. Although I wouldn't be able to post with the vets, I could still read what they have to say, which is what I come to the forum for, anyway. I would suggest the way to do it, though, is to take those that were mentioned in Daniel's blog, and have them grant exemptions to those with less posts but who are valued members of the forum (steve7st
