Napa Lite 3,278
I do a lot of traveling in my shoes and a lot of walking in shitty snow and mud. If I'm outside a lot I wear my workboots.
InternetExplorer 2,609
my employer has insane turnover. it is sort of built into their business model. but in general I would pretty much disregard what HR thinks about how long people should stay in a job. at least for entry level stuff, I think staying where you are for two years is a horrible waste of time. my company's policy is a year, which is really stretching it. I hear about people staying here 15 years and only becoming a manager recently and just want to throw up.

Essay21 2,385
You can tell he genuinely cares about others, and I love that. I think Essay has a little of that in him as well, actually. no i don't.

Ron_Mexico 4,219
Dammit, why does brvy have to be so damn sweet? The only way to get a real raise is to leave your current job. That s the way it is in banking. Hires from within have a built In salary structure based on where you started. So, if you didnt negotiate up from the beginning, you'll always be underpaid. I don't know about all fields, but that's a fact in banking, and if I had to guess, most large companies. Edit: also, Titly is right again. He's money on the business stuff, and telling people to be confident. Funny? Meh, but otherwise, spot on.
iZuma 764
hey I'd love to be able to disregard hr people's advice but considering they're the ones that actually decide whether the hiring manager even sees your resume or not, it kind of makes them hard to ignore. but ron is definitely right that the only way to get a real raise is to change companies. of course you can't admit that when applying, idiotically enough. Ron_Mexico 4,219
I finally had to nut up and buy new tires for my car. Over $900 later. Ughh. Getting em put on Sunday. Looking forward to it. I've been overdue. Now I can go back to stepping on the gas when it's raining and not worrying about spinning em. And I can corner like a badass again. I hope
InternetExplorer 2,609
my résumé is hoppier than any lagunitas brew and neither the advising shop nor the current employer blinked an eye at it. so, your mileage may vary, I guess.

Napa Lite 3,278
On the plus side...can't wait to go to the gym and shred some free weights. Been having to settle for my bands and occasionally a weight machine at the hotel the past few weeks. Tomorrow the two Mario Kart-less girls are saying they're going to make us dinner. Thursday our girl friend from college is saying she's going to make us dinner. Friday two friends from college are coming down and then were all going out to a piano bar for dinner/drinks to celebrate college girl friends birthday.

brvheart 1,752
http://twistedsifter...walking-photos/ It's a shame that when that kid inevitably falls to his death, everyone will instantly just shrug and be like "told ya so". It's obvious he has some real talent for something, and it's just sad that it's going to end tragecally. The worst will be if it's someone else's fault somehow, and how everyone will just assume it was him being stupid.
brvheart 1,752
A piano bar, in Iowa? There's actually a really good one in Des Moines, which I'm assuming Napa is talking about. I doubt there are two really good ones. Anyway, several nights a week they have a dueling piano thing that's really cool.
brvheart 1,752
Also, I'm not making a sickie list, because I would happily hang out with everyone. However, if you forced my hand it would look something like this: 1) Everyone in the whole world. 2) Satan 3) Tilt (just kidding, Tilt. You would edge out Satan.)

Also, I'm not making a sickie list, because I would happily hang out with everyone. You should add the qualifier, "if it's convenient"
