  1. Look, I know it's not rigged.I just want proof to shut up all the people I am arguing with.
  2. Everyone complains that PokerStars is rigged, and creates too many action flops. Does anyone know of any high profile statistical tests that were run on hand histories to check if the cards have the correct distribution over the long run?I just need something to point to for all the people who complain that it's rigged.
  3. I like the PF raise. As for betting the flop however, I think there are simply too many cards on the turn that make you hate your hand. Isn't this a case of passing a small edge on the flop for the chance of pushing a much larger one on the turn? If a bad card comes on the turn, it's now an easy fold.
  4. If anybody here has read super system, you'd know that Doyle Brunson would take the 78c. Read the no-limit and he says it himself: Small suited connectors are his favourite hands in no-limit hold 'em. With aces, you'll either win a small pot, or lose a big one.
  5. All this talk about luck and variance brings up an interesting subject. God. For all (Christian, Islamic, Jewish etc.) poker players out there, including DN: Do you feel that God has a direct influence on the cards that come up, and therefore the amount of success (or failure) you have at the poker table? Also, does your faith in any way morally conflict with your poker playing?Just wondering.Cheers.
  6. I live in Toronto, so there aren't really any good cardrooms around that I know of. I've never played in a B&M before, but the closest one to my area that I can think of is Casino Niagara or Casino Rama.
  7. I have just finished reading most of SSHE by Miller. I feel that I have a strong grasp of the concepts here, like raising to buy outs in big multiway pots, and tending to fold in smaller pots. However, the 2/4 game I usually play on PStars doesn't resemble the loose games described in SSHE. Where can I find these really loose games? I feel that if I was in a game where 6-8 people took a flop everytime, I'd be able to crush it. But alas, most of the pots that I play in are contested HU or 3-way. Because of this, my results are quite modest. Also, for anyone who has read SSHE, what main adjus
  8. Hey guys. I hate to interrupt the thread with a fishy question, but I'd really like to better understand what you guys are talking about. What do the stats 32/14/0.8 mean? From what I can gather, my best guess is %flops taken/%hands raised/%shown down.Would somebody be kind enough to satisfy my curiosity?
  9. B Buddy has left the building. Oh well, it was a good show while it lasted.
  10. Check out this guy B Buddy playing on the 10-20 NL hold'em table on pstars (just look for the tables with waiting lists of 20+ ppl). He is literally going all-in almost every hand, and he's not doing too badly! Comments anyone?
  11. This was a $5+.50 sit and go on PokerStars. I've played a few of them now, and even though the buy-in is relatively small, the field often plays fairly conservatively in them since they start off closer to the money.
  12. You guys are probably right. Pushing in on the river is probably a bit reckless. However, my intuition just screamed that this guy was weak, even though he might have had me beat. Remember, I had the feeling that this guy was a weak passive player. But then again, it all might just have been wishful thinking. In any case, after requesting the hand history from PokerStars, it turned out that UTG had 9c Tc for the flush draw. I was surprised that he would risk so much of his stack on a draw like that.Even after I disconnected, he ended up checking (donk!) and I won the pot. I ended up being
  13. Hey everybody, this is my first post here so go easy. I took this hand from a sit and go I was playing last night. It was down to 14 ppl out of 27 at this point. The button is an aggressive player on the big stack who has already stolen a few blinds from me from late position. UTG seemed to be a pretty weak-passive player to me, but to be honest, I didn't see enough of his play to really tell.PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t150 (7 handed) converterSB (t2735)Hero (t3235)UTG (t3240)MP1 (t2670)MP2 (t1320)CO (t3450)Button (t5530)Preflop: Hero is BB with [Ac], [Qs].
