MaxStPolish 4
I know reading 7-stud hands horrible in script...essentially, even though my hand plays totally 1 sided is it right to be capping this pot through 5th street? My thinking is that I'm very strong right now for the top half of the pot, and there's 3 players who all look like they are chasing low, one who seems to have 3 wheel cards. As such since these others are coming along for the ride, i want to jam the pot out the gate to get half a pot as frothy as possible? I know the fundamental thought in stud/8 is play to scoop. This hand pretty much cannot scoop. But if you have 5 people that want to playing and you get dealt QQQ out the gate, is it not smart to be in cap mode (obv, this play is bad if the other players all fold off, but being that they show low skills and will stay in for streets worth of drawing i thought it made sense).PokerStars Game #35438551884: Tournament #212219685, $3.00+$0.30 USD HORSE (7 Card Stud Hi/Lo Limit) - Level V (60/120) - 2009/11/16 13:33:01 ETTable '212219685 18' 8-maxSeat 1: tommi1212 (4571 in chips) Seat 2: Cedobad (2198 in chips) Seat 3: boudyboude (2804 in chips) Seat 4: RasJoBo (875 in chips) Seat 5: Ressehsif (580 in chips) Seat 6: MaxStPolish (3677 in chips) Seat 7: paleninja (2132 in chips) Seat 8: toun29 (3062 in chips) Ressehsif: posts the ante 12MaxStPolish: posts the ante 12paleninja: posts the ante 12toun29: posts the ante 12tommi1212: posts the ante 12Cedobad: posts the ante 12boudyboude: posts the ante 12RasJoBo: posts the ante 12*** 3rd STREET ***Dealt to tommi1212 [2h]Dealt to Cedobad [4d]Dealt to boudyboude [Ah]Dealt to RasJoBo [As]Dealt to Ressehsif [6h]Dealt to MaxStPolish [Qh Qs Qc]Dealt to paleninja [4s]Dealt to toun29 [Tc]tommi1212: brings in for 18Cedobad: folds boudyboude: calls 18RasJoBo: raises 42 to 60Ressehsif: calls 60MaxStPolish: raises 60 to 120paleninja: folds toun29: calls 120paleninja is sitting outtommi1212: calls 102boudyboude: calls 102RasJoBo: raises 60 to 180Ressehsif: calls 120MaxStPolish: raises 60 to 240Betting is cappedtoun29: folds tommi1212: calls 120boudyboude: calls 120RasJoBo: calls 60Ressehsif: calls 60*** 4th STREET ***Dealt to tommi1212 [2h] [9s]Dealt to boudyboude [Ah] [8c]Dealt to RasJoBo [As] [4c]Dealt to Ressehsif [6h] [Qd]Dealt to MaxStPolish [Qh Qs Qc] [7h]boudyboude: checks RasJoBo: bets 60Ressehsif: calls 60MaxStPolish: raises 60 to 120tommi1212: calls 120boudyboude: calls 120RasJoBo: raises 60 to 180Ressehsif: calls 120MaxStPolish: raises 60 to 240Betting is cappedtommi1212: calls 120boudyboude: calls 120RasJoBo: calls 60Ressehsif: calls 60*** 5th STREET ***Dealt to tommi1212 [2h 9s] [2c]Dealt to boudyboude [Ah 8c] [Td]Dealt to RasJoBo [As 4c] [5c]Dealt to Ressehsif [6h Qd] [Ts]Dealt to MaxStPolish [Qh Qs Qc 7h] [Jd]tommi1212: checks boudyboude: checks RasJoBo: bets 120Ressehsif: calls 88 and is all-inMaxStPolish: raises 120 to 240tommi1212: raises 120 to 360boudyboude: calls 360RasJoBo: raises 23 to 383 and is all-inBetting is cappedMaxStPolish: calls 143tommi1212: calls 23boudyboude: calls 23*** 6th STREET ***Dealt to tommi1212 [2h 9s 2c] [2s]Dealt to boudyboude [Ah 8c Td] [Ks]Dealt to RasJoBo [As 4c 5c] [6s]Dealt to Ressehsif [6h Qd Ts] [8d]Dealt to MaxStPolish [Qh Qs Qc 7h Jd] [Kc]tommi1212: bets 120boudyboude: calls 120MaxStPolish: calls 120*** RIVER ***Dealt to MaxStPolish [Qh Qs Qc 7h Jd Kc] [3h]paleninja has returnedtommi1212: bets 120boudyboude: calls 120MaxStPolish: calls

But with hi-only hand like rolled-up queens, you're looking for exactly the situation you have here, multiway with multiple villains going low.Poker Stars $3.00+$0.30 Limit Stud Hi/Lo Tournament - t60/t120 Limit + t12 - 8 players - View hand 371614The Official DeucesCracked.com Hand History ConverterSeat 1: t4571 M = 24.58Seat 2: t2198 M = 11.82Seat 3: t2804 M = 15.08Seat 4: t875 M = 4.70Seat 5: t580 M = 3.12Hero (): t3677 M = 19.77Seat 7: t2132 M = 11.46Seat 8: t3062 M = 16.463rd Street: (1.6 SB)Seat 1: xx xx 2 ____Seat 1 brings in for $18____Seat 1 calls____Seat 1 callsSeat 2: xx xx 4 ____Seat 2 foldsSeat 3: xx xx A ____Seat 3 calls____Seat 3 calls____Seat 3 callsSeat 4: xx xx A ____Seat 4 raises____Seat 4 caps!____Seat 4 callsSeat 5: xx xx 6 ____Seat 5 calls____Seat 5 calls____Seat 5 callsHero: Q Q Q ___Hero 3-bets___Hero caps!Seat 7: xx xx 4 ____Seat 7 foldsSeat 8: xx xx T ____Seat 8 calls____Seat 8 folds4th Street: (23.6 SB) (5 players)Seat 1: xx xx 2 9 ____Seat 1 calls____Seat 1 callsSeat 3: xx xx A 8 ____Seat 3 checks____Seat 3 calls____Seat 3 callsSeat 4: xx xx A 4 ____Seat 4 bets____Seat 4 3-bets____Seat 4 callsSeat 5: xx xx 6 Q ____Seat 5 calls____Seat 5 calls____Seat 5 callsHero: Q Q Q 7 ___Hero raises___Hero caps!5th Street: (21.8 BB) (5 players)Seat 1: xx xx 2 9 2 ____Seat 1 checks____Seat 1 3-bets____Seat 1 callsSeat 3: xx xx A 8 T ____Seat 3 checks____Seat 3 calls____Seat 3 callsSeat 4: xx xx A 4 5 ____Seat 4 bets____Seat 4 raises all inSeat 5: xx xx 6 Q T ____Seat 5 calls all inHero: Q Q Q 7 J ___Hero raises___Hero calls6th Street: (35.3 BB) (5 players - 2 are all in)Seat 1: xx xx 2 9 2 2 ____Seat 1 betsSeat 3: xx xx A 8 T K ____Seat 3 callsSeat 4: xx xx A 4 5 6 :spade:Seat 5: xx xx 6 Q T 8 :diamond:Hero: Q Q Q 7 J K ___Hero calls7th Street: (38.3 BB) (5 players - 2 are all in)Seat 1: xx xx 2 9 2 2 xx____Seat 1 betsSeat 3: xx xx A 8 T K xx____Seat 3 callsSeat 4: xx xx A 4 5 6 xxSeat 5: xx xx 6 Q T 8 xxHero: Q Q Q 7 J K 3 ___Hero callsMeh, you never at any point have a low, you have a chance at the high pot (if seat one isn't full) but you never win the low seat 4 is probably getting that, but we face the chance of him scooping outright with a low st8.That being said i think it is pretty nitty to fold out on 6th so we kind of commit ourselves to calling on 7th.This hand is kind of strong enough to lose a few more bets on the late streets so it is a marginal call i guess without reads on how tight villains areup until 5 i keep capping like you did you said it yourself you have the 3rd best high hand to start out so yes try and cap and get thin out the crowdNot much you can do, if seat one has a boat or if someone flushed it sucks but you were in a good spot here and bricked.
