brvheart 1,752
I don't know why it's so weird to me that Burt Reynolds died today. It feels like he's just not that old. I know 82 is a decent run, but it still seems young for him somehow.
David_Sklansky 1,903
It's no secret that I don't follow poker as closely as I once did. For example, Jamie Gold is sincerely the last WSOP ME champion I could name. So while this may not be news to some of you, I'm utterly devastated to learn that Ellix Powers left this world three years ago. May he call you with jack-high forever. BigDMcGee 3,352
Explain please. Â This is too long to get into on my phone, but in a nutshell, there is a Washington effect going on with Stan (meaning, as time goes on, less and less of the achievements of the individual founding fathers is widely known, and more and more is attributed to Washington), and he is often credited as being the sole creator of most of the iconic silver age Marvel heroes, which is, at best, leaving out the artists, chiefly Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, and at worst Lee's intention all along, serving his own financial and self promotional interests. How much input Stan actually had in the creation of any characters is hotly disputed, but what isn't is how badly Stan and Marvel ****ed the artists in terms of royalties and credit. There's tons of stuff on this online, and I'm firmly Team Kirby
