  1. Yeah, it wasn't a particularly horrible bad beat considering the amount of outs, it just leaves a sour taste in my mouth when I leave a tournament with aces while having it play out exactly as I wanted only to get drawn out on at the river. The guy was actually playing fairly solid, but I made my bet as fast as possible to appear as if I was going to continuation bet anything. I'm not sure if that actually when into his thought process, but he took awhile to act before raising me.
  2. Typical. Hoped they had the hand they did, had them play it for all my chips as I wanted, and lost. Tired of leaving tournaments like this, makes me more apathetic towards poker even though I just play occasionally for fun. Also whenever I have the best of it in these situations my gut always seems to feel like 50/50, or even like I'm the underdog. Is that weird, I wonder? Not that anyone cares since I hardly post here... but I'm a dedicated lurker.Full Tilt Poker Game #17476258933: Super Stack $15K Guarantee (131211843), Table 10 - 250/500 Ante 50 - No Limit Hold'em - 22:17:54 ET - 2010/01/09
  3. It was situational. I doubt you're playing tournaments everyday where you have a chance to more than double to near the chip lead of the field and make a move to get someone to lay down a straight while someone else hits one of five cards on the river to knock you out instead. That happens to you everyday? Plus where does it say it has to be some unbelievable beat to be able to post it? I never hyped it to be something crazy. I don't care if you're displeased because it isn't some epic bad beat.Plus you say how set over set is such a horrible beat. That basically means that the other player st
  4. I wasn't chasing it to the river. If I actually chased gutshots often or thought that a Jack was all I could catch, perhaps I'd consider your advice. I may have folded on the turn in quite a few situations but when you've been card dead for as long as I was the nut straight draw looked like a good situation to risk seeing the turn, I also felt that I was priced in by the way it played out. The guy who busted me was playing nearly every single hand so I didn't think he was very strong anyway.
  5. I don't think I played this great, but I hate getting rivered in this situation. I had such a tight image that I actually induced one guy to lay down a flopped straight when I went all-in; he said after the hand that he had 86. So he hit a 5 outer. I guess it wouldn't have mattered if the straight called, but it still seemed pretty sick.PokerStars Game #12361698987: Tournament #61826018, $3.00+$0.30 Hold'em No Limit - Level IX (300/600) - 2007/09/30 - 16:42:20 (ET)Table '61826018 81' 9-max Seat #1 is the buttonSeat 1: Gramaxo15 (29319 in chips) Seat 2: Posejdon (23375 in chips) Seat 4: BiG_TiM
  6. Yeah I've been learning about bankroll management, and even with my early mistakes with my first deposits I managed to turn a profit although it started from taking another shot. I've slowed down and haven't done anything unreasonable anymore, at most I've done a handful of the $4+$0.40 180 player S&G within last couple months. Finished 4th in one but that was a bit disappointing because I held chip lead up until final table and then went card dead. I think I can do alright if I also learn to stop taking money out when I win something decent in comparison to my bankroll.
  7. Hopefully I'm posting this in the right section, I couldn't really decide where it belonged best so I'm putting it here. I'm trying to figure out if I have potential as a poker player or if I'm just being delusional. I want to know if I should try to go up from where I'm at. First of all I only really play NL Hold'em, I've tried some of the other games but they just don't captivate me that much and I get bored way too easily. I do have a few accomplishments that I consider notable, which include:1. I started with play money games at age 18. Within my first ten freeroll tournaments on PokerStar
  8. I remember seeing a demo of this software on youtube recently. I also read that the software is banned on PartyPoker and PokerStars because they consider it an unfair advantage. According to the Poker-Edge FAQ it can't be detected... but I'm not sure how much I would trust that.Yes I'm a new poster here, but saw this topic and figured I'd share.
