Whee...Cobalt FTW. The next month is probably going to be semi-hectic with school, so I'm scaling back my goals a bit.April Goals

  • Play 50 STTs of $50 and above.

March Goals/Results

  • Make 15 buy-ins at 3/6 NL before moving up.Still haven't accomplished this. Got a little sidetracked.
  • Play well in the WPC ME.I thought I played decently well, but I certainly made some mistakes. I was happy about my first casino cash (in another tournament) though.
  • Get my BR back over $20k.Actually met this goal pre-Reno, but I'm back down to ~$16k now.

march goals:i'm running so bad, i don't even know where to start. i think i want to play 20k hands (at 2/4 to start, but i will allow myself to move up to 3/6 when i am 300BBs up at 2/4) because i don't think i can play my a game at anything higher than that right now. i also want to play some donkaments since i didn't do that at all in february.
marchgraphs.pngtop graph is shlhe, bottom graph is frnlhelol, i only played 1300 (at 13.61 BB/100 lol) hands this month, school kicked my ***. i did play a couple live sessions and finished up about $250, which was nice. i also played about 700 hands of breakeven lo8, i didn't play a single donkament or STT.so with all that said, my april goals:i have finals this month, so i'm going to take it easy. i've got $100 in bonus money i need to clear by the 10th, so that's really the only goal i have, is to play enough hands to clear that, but after the 12th or so, any poker i play will be a bonus. my only other goal is to not busto myself between now and May 1st, when I will be able to really grind.

After playing very little at the beginning of march due to blowing up my br.. i got back on the ball a little bit.. so april is hopefully my breakout month, as i feel i've played the best i've played in a long timeapril goals:Poker Stars:- finish the very small stake my friend gave me on poker stars- ft at least two 4.40 180 man sngs.. hopefully taking one down finallyBodog:- get my br to $500 minimum.. stick to mostly NLH cash games.. with some PLO thrown in once i get my br up to an amount where i feel i can play within my br- cash in at least 10 $10 sngs.. simple goal but i dont play these enough to crush them like i know i can- ft a tourney- qualify and play the $100k guaranteeonce i get my tax return back, i'm heading out to the casino for a good night of live play.. my goal for the night is $500 or more if i play $1/2.. $700 or more if I play $2/5... if the $5/10 game looks juicy (and often it does, i've railed this game quite a bit.. and have mistaken if for the $1/2 game, as its always the same players that play $1/2.. i've railed this game for hours.. and found the play to be HORRIBLE!!!) I may take a shot at that.. so we'll see how that goesand i'm hoping to get some money on full tilt if i have a winning session at the b&m... I have yet to play on full tilt.. how are the cash games (low limit) and tourneys on the site?

I didn't play too much and made about $1600. I fell a bit short of my monetary goal, but school gets in the way and so does running bad. Goal for April is to make $2000, not playing too much.

April goals:1. Pay off all debts and maintain an active BR of $10,000.Kind of embarrassed to say where the debts are at, but suffice it to say that I'll feel a lot more comfortable when they're all gone. Paying taxes would fit in here too, but I'll probably end up asking for an extension.2. No pit games of any sort.Zero hands of blackjack, zero spins of roulette, zero rolls of the dice for craps, etc., etc. Obviously includes online as I do get a taste for Bodog blackjack occasionally. Two goals is plenty. Seems like that's all that's ever actually relevant anyway.

As for goals in march, im going to be realistic and say 50k hands and a modest $15,000.But hopefully ill get my **** together and play more. We'll see.
So much for realism. I played 23k hands, and i made $17,500.I can live with it. But a lot of that is attributable to dumb luck.I want to do 40k hands for april, and again shoot for $15,000. I have withdrawn about $80k for my condo, so im ready to go make an offer on a place. Ill post pictures of whichever places im thinking of before i make an offer and maybe you guys can help me decide. Hopefully ill make an offer within the next week and have a 30 day closing, but im expecting 60 days.

I'll update my March goals when I get my final RB totals, etc, but for now, I'll post my April goals. For me, according to the way I keep track, my April will start at 8 am EST on April 1, so:This will be my first full month without school, playing professionally (although I do have 2 exams, but that won't occupy too much of my time).Having said that, 1500 hands/day, 5 days/week is a modest goal, I believe, so I'd like to total 30-35k hands over the month.I can make between 1.5-2 BB/100 in benefits on AP, and, even though I've been running/playing bad, my goal is a modest winrate of 1 BB/100 at the tables, so, add that all together, a mix of 2/4 and 3/6 as I start to win again (hopefully?), and I'd like to do a $4000 month in gross profit ($$$, RB, Bonus, ARP value).

I'm going to start playing poker again. For the past couple of months I've been having serious problems with anxiety and substance abuse so I decided to take a break from playing and get my head straightened out. I'm shooting for the modest goal of $250 just to prove to myself I can still win.

It's good to hear that things are going better for ya, not that I ever knew of your troubles, but it's always good to see someone turn it around.GL in poker again.

March Goals :10k+ hands $0.02/0.04NL increase bankroll to $200. Once again I only managed about 8.5k hands and despite encouraging first 3 weeks, hit a downswing where every AA,KK,QQ,AK hand got cracked on the turn or river, I ended up break even for the monthUse PokerTracker more effectively.Well I've been using it to track my play in terms of number of hands and to evaluate hands that I lost, but I've still to get a lot of the numbers and PokerAceHUD figured out.Titan also dropped $15 dollars into my empty account So I'll mess around loosely with that if I feel like I'm tilting.Played some $.02/.04NL 6-max on Titan. Did o.k. at first but then lost a bit.April Goals :At least 1k hands a day on average. This will be tough as even 4-tabling it's difficult get more than 250 hands/hour on party at $.02/.04NL FR.Try to get bankroll to $150 so I'll have 15 buy-ins for $.05/.10NL and can move up. I know the play won't really be any better.

With resizable tables, I really think you should be able to play more than 4 tables of .02/.04 NL... NL is sooo slow and boring. I used to play 9 tables of $100 NL on my laptop, lol.

I've only got a 15 inch laptop widescreen and I can fit 6 comfortably with Full Tilt's new resizable tables. 8 is pushing it, and requires me to flip out on occassion when I fold the nuts when I time out.

My goal is simple. I am horrible with bank roll management. Usually what happens is I will deposit $50 and end up running it up to around $2,000 before I lose it all back. I do this continually and it amazes me sometimes how fast I can turn $50 into over 1k, but then I turn retarded and give it all back. I usually can make some big cashes in the MTTs.So my goals are:1. Stay within my bankroll2. Do not go bust once during the month3. Make 5 MTT FT's4. Double my Bankroll5. Play in the Sunday Million on Stars

I'm such a ****ing degenerate. I hate poker. Got hella stuck playing 2/4 PLO last night, and switched over to 5/10 NL and 30/60 and busted my account. -$6800 on the night. I've still got the $2000 on the way that I cashed out for expenses, but I'm in terrible financial shape right now.

Man, Iggy...I think until you can get this BR management thing figured out, poker might not be for you...You obviously have an insane amount of talent, but you'll get nowhere without BR management... seriously.

Yeah, I've thought about just quitting poker, but the thing is that the lack of discipline that allowed me to bust a 70K roll is the same kind of lack of discipline that was making me start to fail my classes junior year. I really think that fixing the poker discipline would be signifcantly easier than fixing the other kind of discipline, and it would also be a lot more rewarding if I succeed. The thing is that in January, I was actually doing really good on all the BR management stuff. I was playing rolled enough (50 BI), that I felt I had almost no chance of going broke as long as I played well and I wasn't having any problems at all quitting during a losing session, tilting, etc. I really thought I was just going to be set for life. That first Vegas trip was kind of bad, but the turning point was that stupid wedding reception where I got trashed and then lost 28K after. Ever since then, I've felt kind of insecure financially and I've been pressing and making all kinds of stupid mistakes as a result.I don't know, I suppose the smart thing would just be to say f*ck everything else, move down and grind the real low games at a level where I can't lose for a while. I've just got a bad feeling that if I put $1500 online and go right back to playing 8/16 and 10/20 or 1/2 PLO right away, I'm going to go broke for sure. Maybe I should learn O8. That's supposed to be the lowest variance game out there, and if I was playing a new game, I might not mind so much playing low for a while.

O8 is a pretty good game.I don't know though. From everything I've seen with you, you have mad talent.Honestly, if you 4-6 table $100 NL or $100 PLO or whatever your game is, 2/4 SH LHE or whatever, on the $1500 (only slightly underrolled for each of those), you can move up a stake in a matter of 1-2 weaks, seriously. Like, say 1 week to get to 3/6, 2 to get to 5/10 LHE, and you'll be back in the game at no time.Get on somewhere with rakeback and bonuses (cough AP cough) and you'll never have this problem again.I know you've been told that a million times, so I don't expect to make a difference, but it is what it is.Also, from all of your posts in here, it really seems that your biggest weakness is being stuck in a session. No matter what, you are going to have losing days. Sometimes you just gotta suck up a loss and get some rest and get back at it tomorrow. Hard to do, I know, I hate quitting down (I've gotten used to it lately though :club:)...Anyways, good luck with whatever, and remember to use Jordan on AIM (or me if you want to) when you feel the urge to sit too high, or tilt, etc.

Absolute:--$1292....(+204)Bodog:---$576....(+56)PStars:---$501....(+73)Decent month at AP considering no more bonus $$$$.I just don't know anymore with Dog and Stars, I'm like a yo-yo there, 2 good days, 2 HORRIBLE days. I quit cash games at Stars (except a little 2-7) and just can't get the results in the $10 NLHE sng's. I DESTROY the sng's at AP, and the competition is pretty much the same.Bodog makes me want to quit poker sometimes, I just find it hard to believe that I'm not obliterating $25NL, although it could be worse. I go on a huuuuuge downswing over like 3 weeks (-~$180) and then get it back in like 3-4 good sessions, not sure what that says about my game. :club: I guess my April goals are to keep plugging away and be happy I aint broke, since I won't re-deposit...ever!! :D

well, my roll right now is almost at 3K. I ended up making like 650 this month, but what's more frustrating is that I was up around 1300 before I went to NJ to visit some friends. I come back, and I go on a major downswing. Bubbled countless times and got sucked out on a lot, not to mention that the 60s on FT completely kicked my ass. if it weren't for them and I stayed at the 36s and 24s, I'd be up another 900. Doesn't matter though, once I make another 200 I'm heading back to SHLHE. so my goals for april are:play 100-150 sngs mainly between the 24-36 turbos on stars and FT hopefully run at $3 a tournyplay 12-18K hands all at 2/4 unless I get on a heater and get my roll to 6K and run hopefully between 1.5-2 BB/100 since i haven't played SHLHE since mid sept

March goals:- FT four 180s I didn't play as many 180's as I should have, and only FT'd two.- FT two ds sngs I ended up FT'ing four, even though I didn't play as many of these as I should have.- Be up around 150-200 bbs at .50/1 TD, with the occasional shot at 1/2 if the game is good. Cash games are really what hurt me this month, and I ended up down about 100 bbs at TD and about 50 at shlhe, both .5/1.- Finish the month around 1.2k This didn't happen, I actually went back to about $500ish. :club: I didn't really get to play as much as I wanted to this month due to moving and other family issues, so hopefully I will be able to play a lot more this month and make some decent money.April Goals:- FT four 180s.- FT four ds sngs on FT.- I just started playing full ring nl cash games again, so I would like to be somewhere around 4-5 bbs/100 and play at least 15k hands.- End the month around 1.2k, for real this time!!!!Good luck everybody!

abba, what are you showing as income? W2's?Or is it a documentless loan, due to your downpayment?****************Antistuff,I find getting into healthieraddictions, like poker if you don't tilt easily, can keep your mind occupied and relieve some anxiety. Personally, my anxiety is exacorbated (sp?) by doing nothing. All I do is sit and worry. Also, when society was less accepting of those Mental Illnesses like BiPolar and Anxiety and Depression... I never thougt I had any of that. I was "moody", or "rambunktous". Sometimes I think calling myself "depressed" made it worse, like I was not in control anymore. Now, you might have a much more severe case.
