Essay21 2,385
I guess the good news is the protest has become mainstream and is soon to die out on field because it has no meaning anymore. Nice work Donny.
GOCUBSGO 77
You are really railing hard against the protesting, big guy. What is your main issue with it? You don't want politics in sports? You think its disrespectful to the flag/military/country? You think black people don't have legitimate reasons to be protesting? All of the above? Genuinely curious. I still don't fully understand the outrage.
Essay21 2,385
You confusion comes from reading outrage into my comments. I’m not outraged, I’m annoyed. People are covering this like it’s some iconic protest against the worst injustices in human history. From the beginning I’ve said I don’t care if the take a knee, it’s just this whole thing is over exposed and over inflated. It’s doing nothing, accomplishing nothing, and protesting something, near as I can tell, that isn’t fixable in any measurable way for an entire generation. So we’re going to argue and chastise for awhile now and it will go away and nothing will change. And moreover I think the unified society of acceptance is an outcome we’re going to get to anyways. I do laugh when people compare this to Rosa Parks or MLKJR though. I’m just tired of healing about people kneeling. If they wanna talk how to fix economic inequality or the specifics of cop shootings i could listen to that. I’m sure I’d be called a nazi there too, but that won’t mean anything anymore soon so no big deal.
Essay21 2,385
To answer your questions though: kneeling in this context is disrespectful to the flag, otherwise they wouldn’t do it. That’s the point. They are doing it because they know it will anger people to draw attention to the real issue - police brutality and racism in general. Obviously those are bad things and should be eradicated in a perfect world, but in reality that’s gonna be tough. I think it gets better every day and the future is bright. Politics in sports? I’d rather not, but it’s unavoidable at this point. I’m just over this particular discussion.
brvheart 1,752
Brvy, our sitting president called players that respectfully and peacefully took a stand for something they believe in, sons of bitches. Why do people of color, people on the left, always have to be the bigger people and ignore the attacks? Should they have done nothing? Also, if Obama did 1/10th of what Trump has said, done and tweeted, do you honestly think the right wouldn't have fully exploded by now? False equivalencies can't be used here. We are dealing with an unprecedented madman, the loosest of cannons. Did you see that tweet he made about Iran setting off a ballistic missle the other day and then shitting on Iran? It was old footage. He was fooled by Fox News. I mean, I just can't anymore. Agreed on this stuff. 6 Trump advisors have now been caught using personal email acts to do govt business. Where is their outrage? Doesn't matter because it wasn't classified. Apples and Oranges. I know you don't like him, but your side sure does. That article is kind of blaming the people for taking Trump's bait. Why not blame the person chumming the waters for the shark bite, not the swimmer? Ok, I'm done. Bed time. Sorry for the rant I think blaming Trump would be like blaming a retarded person for not having good troubleshooting skills. The people should be able to see that their party has betrayed them at every level and not keep being fooled.
Essay21 2,385
The problem is Trump and those who think he’s doing a good a job are both mentally disabled. And no amount of anthem kneeling will change that. Trump has done one unquestionably good thing so far. Everything else he’s bungled to some degree, this NFL thing near the top of the mountain of idiocy.
brvheart 1,752
Trump's SC pick could be good enough to make him worth it. But that will only show itself true over time.
Essay21 2,385
Obviously big dick Gorsuch was my one good thing reference. If trump names three total justices it will turn out to be all worth it.
Ron_Mexico 4,219
That one thing never should have happened. And more people think that wasn't a good thing.
Essay21 2,385
But it did happen. And I think it was a good thing.
brvheart 1,752
I think it's always good when a strict constitutionist is one of 9 people in charge of making sure the constitution is followed strictly. That's why Scalia was so awesome. If a large number of people don't like the constitution then they just need to quick make an amendment and get 38 states to agree with the change. SuitedAces21 2,722
listening to Dan and Mina talk the protests it becomes so clear how limited Dan actually is at intellectual discussion. Mina shits all over him.
Essay21 2,385
Cam Newton is sexist, and Dan is repeatedly saying White men are scared of the changing world. And people wonder why he gets hit with race baiter.
GOCUBSGO 77
This interview of the stripper/human cocaine platter for the Dolphins coach is fascinating.

Ron_Mexico 4,219
I wonder if Dan came out of pocket for it. His journalism ethics wouldn't allow it but his dontgiveafcks are all for it. You know ESPN didn't pay for it.

Essay21 2,385
That interview sucked. She was awful and full of shit and dan said nothing about it. Terrible!
Ron_Mexico 4,219
That interview sucked. She was awful and full of shit and dan said nothing about it. Terrible! What do you want him to do, yell at her? They gave her a platform to tell her story, she did, a lot of it was silly, but that was her story. You want him to call her a liar and a whore on ESPN radio with no actual proof of anything? Don't be a moron
SuitedAces21 2,722
no i want him to question how she is advocating social justice by doing what she did. She didn't deserve a platform like you'd give a sexual assault victim, allowed to share a story without question. he yells at kevin durant's mom, but this lady gets carte blanche to make ridiculous statement after ridiculous statement without any push back. Ron_Mexico 4,219
Meh, i don't disagree with your larger point, but I think you're expecting too much from the show. They hardly yelled at KD's mom. They jokingly said Lebron is better to her. It was just silly disrespect. There was no malice
Essay21 2,385
And he could have easily joked that her releasing this video wasn’t helping the cause but he didn’t
