Congrats to Ovy for his 50th tonight..Also has 3 pts to pass Coosby..To put into perspective, Gretzky in his best year had 50 goals in 39 games.

By "best year" you mean the season he scored 92 goals? Because the year he scored 215 points was the year he had 163 assists.

Yeah, I usually stick up for Ovy celebrating when he scores, but that was over the top. If I wanted over the top celebrations, I'd go find T.O clips, or watch soccer.

I mean, I don't care how much he celebrates most of his goals. I don't care if he runs into the glass and does that thing with his glove off, whatever. I would have done that.And really, he's gotten 50 goals every year, it's not even like he wasn't going to do it this year and put up a hat trick in the last game. 50 should really be a foregone conclusion with his talent and skill set, so I'm not buying any of the "milestone" talk either. He's done it 3 out of his first 4 years. (wtf happened to him in his second year? all of his stats actually went down, heh)

We had the Ovechkin vs Crosby debate many times and its obvious how you feel about him.I pose the question. Whats worse over celebrating and showing emotion, or whining or crying and diving?While that comment will seem like a typical stupid anti Crosby remark by me, its the perception among Crosby's "haters".I like Ovechkin's celebrations. I also like T.O s endzone celebration.Ovechkin did nothing to rub it in or make fun of the other team. Tocchet was upset obviously, but maybe because he never had the talent to score 50 goals in the NHL.

The knock on Ovechkin is that he celebrates too much.The knock on Crosby is that he whines and cries(this maybe unwarranted but thats the general knock on him)As a fan of the NHL, especially casual fans, what Ovechkin does creates excitement and intrigue. The old school guys like Cherry obviously hate it. You need more guys like Ovy to sell the game..Flash, speed , excitement and just overall fun. He doesnt cheapshot anyone, he doesnt really mock anyone, he is just having fun. They promote stuff like that in the All star game, and when he does it in a game they are all anti fun all of a sudden.Well the guy has 213 goals the last 4 years..Who else does in the NHL?

even better...I love Don Cherry, but I am totally against him on this one.BTW Ovechin 213 NHL goals Cherry NO NHL goals in 1 NHL playoff appearance.He did score 101 goals in 1016 "pro" games though.

I guarantee you Ovechkin and Terrell Owens increase ratings among casual fans...By a large margin...Ovechkin is the best player in the game and he earns the right to celebrate. If Jason Blake does it after scoring a goal being down 5-1 then I agree...Who is he mocking?
