I Called In Sick Today

Recommended Posts

That's cute you think we have a rooms to go in town.

Edit: I see now you said 2017. The below is geared towards next year when I go out on my own in February. My plan for Feb 2017 is to have $XX,XXX for a down payment/modestly furnishing a house. But I might move to a different city at that time and then that money will just become a emergency fund until I get settled.

My plan is to find something on Craigslist for furniture and splurge a little on a nice cookware/knives and just cheap out on everything else. I don't want to get to comfortable with my living situation and end up living in a shitty apartment my whole life.

I've got enough cash right now to pay off some college debt that'll free up some monthly cash flow but it's a significant amount and it's hard to write that check. Plus, I want to make sure I get all this hospital shit paid off first.

If you are paying $20 for a haircut, I imagine people assume you did it yourself anyway.

and after 3 days, he is risen!

Pocket change cost me my first and only black girlfriend.   It was in the middle of a roaring poker boom and I was flush in ways most men don't even bother dreaming of. Money, it was like dirt to me

I responsibly submitted cover letter and resume this morning before work.

I just reservations for Sunday for this place. I think I'm going to get the seven courses, with or without wine though? The price is so reasonable...

It's only 47, and it will exponentially increase your enjoyment of the meal. Who you going with?

My girlfriend who likes to eat. She and I went to n/naka together last January. That was awesome, and I think about going back all the time.

The two wavery points for me, I should uber there if I plan to get the wine. She's an active alcoholic, and while I believe everyone is responsible for their own things in life, I still get uptight when I drink with her.

(She's lost job, marriage, and gotten dui with overnight lockup in last three years because of booze.)

Definitely get the wine, and please give a review afterwards.

Not sure what I think of their menu. It reads as whimsical and pretentious at the same time. Which is very LA I suppose.

Incidentally, when I was working down there our regional office was on Western Ave. I'm sure nowhere close to this restaurant though.

That's crazy for sure, but Galatians is a pretty sweet book, so at least she chose that wisely.

Galatians 5:6 is one of my favorite verses, though I tend to omit the first sentence for the sake of brevity. Whoever didn't opt to split it into two verses did everyone a disservice.

As for finances, I feel like we've been straight spewing money for the past couple of months, though work has obviously been going pretty well for a while. We did make some money on the move, so we've been using that somewhat to get furniture for our new place. Since moving, we've bought a dining room table and six chairs, a couple of closet shelves, three bar stools, an ottoman, a rocker with ottoman for the nursery, two power recliners, a king-size bed (footboard and headboard), and a couple of bookshelves. I've assembled the closet shelves, the rocker, and the stools. Still waiting on the arrival of the dining table and chairs. The recliners and bed will get delivered and assembled tomorrow.

Other than that, we still are pondering what to put on our brick circle outside, and I also want to get an entertainment set that I think will run me around $2.3k. I guess we will eventually need some kid furniture too.

Sounds like she could use a sturdy guy like me or napa. Hook a fcper up, frausky?

an active alcoholic? you need to walk before you run, young man.

me an the other hand? I would probably just tempt her further down the path into things like group sex and a coke habit.

What did we find out regarding the A/C unit?

No home warranty. Has been working fine for the most part. We'll see how egregious the electrical bill ends up being and then start considering the next step.

I'm partial to Galatians 3 myself.

You've definitely been leaking cash this month. Another big score will ease the pain of the entertainment center. Get it this Sunday.

Also, we're going to need updated pictures of the house and all this new furniture. Maybe a few of Evangeline, just because.

I'm out of bourbon (that I want to sell). two people heard about it in passing and I got swarmed the next day. someone's husband found this kind of bourbon during his traveling and marked it up $25 to sell to people. that just rubbed me the wrong way. I know everyone appreciates it, and I have just robbed this dirtbag of his ability to profit. win-win, plus I got 2% cash back!

Did he try to buy stuff from you to resell later? I would just stop right then.

Always gotta be someone turning a decent, fun hobby into an enterprise where you're actively losing money just because they want to profit from your work. I see it every day.

Assuming you mean 5:13-26? Cause not a lot of the NT books have that many chapters.

Yeah, Sunday/Monday would be the day to get it this week. Played a $340 satty on Wednesday to a $1.5k 500kG ME at Isle and won a seat. I'm relatively sure it is the first seat I've won in a live satellite in maybe 10 years? Not that I play gobs of them, but still kind of pathetic. Funny part was that it paid 1/5 and I still had to run super hot...hit 4 sets in like the first few hours and got paid. (In one, I jammed on a limper w/ 88 and ran into the SB's AA but spiked.) With 47 left and 36 seats and a decent-but-not-quite-sitout stack, folded to me in CO w/ AK...I crammed since it was a reasonable cram spot and ran into SB's AA. That somewhat crippled me, but fortunately as it was a live satellite, still had plenty of fold equity with 5bb...never actually was all-in and called. I did put a bit of a beat on an old man to get us to 39. Folds to him on button, he jams for 14k at 4k/8k/1k...I called in BB w/ QTo. He had AA. Rolled K73...A...J. He was not happy.

Oh, one other funny little note...with 37 left (37th paid $900), this lady blinded down to literally one 1k chip. She got a seat...because someone at another table was stupid.

emails from her talking about how Obama should be impeached because of his failure to protect the Texas/Mexico border. Holy shit. Who does this?

Obama, obviously.

I don't know what's going on but I'm at least caught up.

I've liked hanks posts the most, as usual. Followed by Ron.

I figured it was in that area. We were at Western and Venice.

She sounds hideous.
