I think Dan was being cautious because it wasn't an interview that ESPN would normally do or even allow. Like Ron said, I wouldn't be surprised if Dan had to pay out of pocket for it and was given some guidance on how it should go. He says all the time that they make small concessions for ESPN allowing their shenanigans.

And to be fair, while he didn't directly tell her she was full of sh*t, every discussion before and after the interview was basically making fun of her idea of activism, the ridiculousness of the entire thing, and the idea of her as a human cocaine platter.

Much like with Christianity, someday after I'm dead, when people are forming a religion around me, there will be a big split between those who don't believe in the literal divinity of my lifestyle and

God I love that Incognito song.

He goes out of his way to make every interview contentious and awkward except that one. Just didn’t make sense

This was a real and serious topic, those others aren’t. Especaily in today’s climate, you can’t go after a woman in this instance. Even if she’s a cocaine platter

I think he let the audience roll their eyes on their own. It was obvious that she was a bit of a fool.

That was a serious topic? He literally made fun of it for days. He bitched out because of PC culture. I get it now.

Ok Clay

He just didn’t want to optics of arguing with that woman, if I had to guess

i didn't reference PC culture until you said the above. is that not a reference to PC culture?

You think that’s all a bad thing. I don’t. Sometimes it’s better not to be a jerk and say whatever you want.

I try to be a better person and not say the stupid shit I used to. It doesn’t take that much effort.

We don’t need to call people fags, retards, etc.

It’s whatever. I don’t care. We clearly are on different sides of the aisle on this stuff. You think Clay Travis is a god and follow Ben Shapiro. We’re never gonna agree. You do you All good

i dont call people fags or retards anymore either. but i also think people should be allowed to make jokes about harvey weinstein without apologizing.

not my fault you've been swept up by the morality through being social justice wave where the color of your skin or the way you identify yourself makes you the only authority on something.

Meh, I don’t agree with that either. The people you’re referencing are on the fringes. The loonies with 10 followers get mainstream covereage by saying stupid shit. Media outlets want the clickbait and grab it That’s the biggest problem of them all. And i’m Not taking about msm. I’m talking about clickbait crap that gets aggregated by yahoo and the like.

Anyway, people l, when they actually talk in person, usually find they have more in common than they realize

Dan Lebatard cried repeatedly on yesterday’s show that if someone makes a joke and women say they are offended you should shut up listen and apologize because only women can judge the appropriateness of a joke about Harvey Weinstein. He makes that point over and over about all kinds of things - just listen to them, they are black, only thy can truly understand this.

That is total BS and he sounds like an idiot when he says it.

So I don’t think it’s just the fringes anymore.

Meh I don't think its that outrageous.

You've already conceded you've done it with gays and people with mental defects.

As far as I know you aren't gay or retarded, but you've admittedly stopped using the word fag or retard because those groups find it offensive.

Why do you draw the line at women or blacks?

Listen, I'm in agreement that our society is way to into the PC culture and the trendy thing these days is faux outrage, but I can understand Dan's point about listening when a group you aren't a part of tells you something is offensive.

I may not completely agree, but I get it.

I guess to some degree, you can’t understand someone’s pain or point of view if you haven’t lived it. It’s where empathy comes in. A lot of people on the right in these arguments just can’t muster empathy.

It’s all a cluster. There are shades of right and wrong in all of it. But let’s not do a false equivalency thing

There’s a big difference between calling someone a fag to hurt them and Al Michael’s joke. We cannot allow the oppression olympics and outrage culture bullshit of today prevent people from going for the joke. We gotta have something to laugh at or it’s all misery. I wanna laugh dammit.

  • 2 weeks later...

Tried listening to Pablo’s appearance in the show. He’s fine, he doesn’t bother me, but when they spend an entire segment hyping up an announcement, then spend the entire next segment breaking down the audio of the announcement.

I know they swing big, but that was too much. Delete. Don’t get me wrong, I never laughed harder when they finished out a segment by playing Bill Polian coughing for 2 straight minutes. I cried.

Listening to today’s local hour and this “dan was in the woods all weekend” bit is kinda tired. Their planned bits that they don’t want you to think are bits are tired.

I guess I’m a grump

Its not you, it’s them. Pablo is awful and should be banned from speaking on radio or tv. He can write, but that’s it. He’s the worst.

Dan is getting so bad with the Meta analysis of everything. I swear he took freshman philosophy and thinks he’s Immanuel Kant or something. Just ****ing laugh and joke about sports and shit.

You went and pulled a stugotz on me. That isn’t what I was saying at all

Kudos on that.

Pablo is fine. I wouldn’t watch a show if it was just him, but I’ll check out him and Bomani, as I enjoy his perspective. Most of the time

He’s a little too high on Jordans for my tastes. I ain’t a sneakerhead

No clue why you listen. Doesn’t Whitlock have a podcast? Clay? Seems like you would enjoy that more. I’m being serious.

No reason to hate Sarah. She’s funny, knows sports, and seems cool. You just hate that she stands up for herself and women. Why does that bother you? Have you seen her timeline? People are awful to her. All because she’s a woman.

Do I think she goes too far sometimes with the pc stuff? Maybe. But I don’t get bothered by it.

I used to love PTI, watched it for almost 10 years, then HQ started and I didn’t need two silly debate shows. I miss Kornheiser. But man, it was funny to see Wilbon and his grumpy, bad hot takin ass get dragged a little on twitter last night. He made a fool of himself and finally; after a few swings, that he was wrong

She isn’t funny, that’s the thing. Mina is fine, I like Mina. Mina will make a solid joke. Mina rolls with the show she doesn’t come in and condescend to me every appearance as though I need a sports radio personality to teach me about morality.

I listen for the same reason I alway have. This show at its worst is still better than any other show. I hate call in shows. I wanna hear the guys bullshitting and having a good time.

I mean he just had to throw in the implication his black friend wouldn’t be alive if he didn’t go to extreme lengths to avoid police. He can’t even get in his car guys because he’s Black. Seriously with that shit.
