I really want to see three billboards outside of ebbing, missouri.

Mindhunter was really enjoyable. I didn't get hooked until ep 2 and I struggled with the performance of the girlfriend but the ed kemper dude just, ahem, killed it.

Loved Mindhunter so much. Can't wait till season two.

what they're doing with the opening sequence is pretty interesting and unique. curious to see how they play that out. i'm guessing final season kind of thing.

Anyone watching Happy! on syfy? Quite gritty for them in a violence, gore, and cursing kind of way. I would've love to have seen this done on showtime or hbo. Meloni is perfectly cast for this. I can see glimmer of Chris Keller and, oddly enough, his role in Harold and Kumar in this role. I'm not feeling as good about Oswalt's voice work though.

I enjoyed the 2nd episode more than the first. I'm definitely in for the season now. I'm not sure, based on the premise and structure of the story, how they would do more than one season though.

I just binge watched the 1st season. I liked it probably more than I should. They've ordered a second season so will be interesting to see what the story for the new season will be.

I'm watching a show on Starz called Counterpart. Has a very cold war spy thriller vibe to it. There was a scene where two "spies" need to get to know each other's lives and personalities very well in order to imitate each other so one suggests they play poker. Now one of these guys is a highly pragmatic go for the throat type of dude and the other is a rather milquetoast functionary type. So they sit down and proceed to play heads up hold 'em, the aggro guy keeps raising and the functionary keeps folding. Finally aggro says just play a hand like you know how to wind for once and functionary immediately folds next hand. Of course aggro gets peeved and milquetoast shows the ol' 72o. What I found interesting about this scene is that exactly zero exposition was given explaining the game or even the hand and why it was an autofold. Has poker reached so broadly in the pop culture zeitgeist? Maybe vegas knights can finally get his movie made.

I was hoping this season's slide was just the sophomore slump and I could power through and season 3 would be awesome but I don't think I'm gonna make it. Not entirely decided, I'm going to give the finale a second viewing but based on the first I might be done. Every deus ex moment, every time a security professional with a submachine gun got taken out by a six shooter at distance I was just yanked out of the story so it became incredibly difficult to follow and/or care.

they tried so hard to be confusing and deep they forgot to formulate a good story.

SA and I have generally only agreed on pop culture items when it is utterly ****ing terrible. I agree with him 100% here, that's how bad this show went. Jesu cristo it hurt me to my core to type that...

So glad to know others thought this season of WW was a disappointment. The time jump was a nice twist at first, but they really over did it this season.

One of the more confusing points was

Finding out that William/Ed Harris is a host. After Bernard shoots Doris, he goes to the elevator. At the "same time" William is in the elevator coming down, but when it opens for Bernard to get in, William isn't inside. Of course at the very end, they make it obvious that William didn't wake up right away after his encounter with Doris, and the scene with him going into that secret area is actually in the future.

What's confusing (if that wasn't bad enough) is how can William have been lying in the desert for who knows how long when he was in the medical tent at the end when Hale/Doris was getting ready to leave on the boat?

From what I hear, you need to notice like aspect ratio switches and shit to know what timeline you're in.

I did think that Ed Harris taking a million a bullets, and digging around in his arm, seemed like a solid late-game clue.

I interpreted it as it was the synthetic William that was lying in the desert for god knows how long. The day he shot his daughter was the defining moment of his life, like the druggie son day was for Devos. I assume "Emily" in the future is a host, and the hosts are bringing William back for some undetermined reason. What happened to the real William that day, after he blew off his hand, but before he makes it to the survivors base, we don't know)

Also, Brockmire is a ****ing great show.

I'm a few episodes into season 2, and it's delivering. The first episode alone had two of my favorite monologues.

Jesus, I hadn't even considered Dutch. I doubt you'll find a show more tailored to absurd sexual escapades than this. The commitment to eating that black woman's ass is downright inspiring.
