and after 3 days, he is risen!

If you are paying $20 for a haircut, I imagine people assume you did it yourself anyway.

Pocket change cost me my first and only black girlfriend.   It was in the middle of a roaring poker boom and I was flush in ways most men don't even bother dreaming of. Money, it was like dirt to me

I actually forgot that Dutch was even Asian. EDIT: Maybe he wasn't? I have no idea anymore.

Nice post Dutch!

I have something like 35 pairs of socks in various colors. 99% of the time I just grab a pair off a random pile. I fold my socks and stack them in in piles of 5 and don't duplicate wearings until I've worn them all. I fold them 2 different ways so I know which is which.

I desire to be on your level. For now I'll have to stick to my $4/pair department store socks.

I'm not sure what the handmade ones cost, but I'd imagine there is some awful hipster nut on Etsy who will make them, with or without Zelda theme, for cheaper than seems worth the effort. And SmartWool is like $15.

They end up lasting so much better, it's probably effectively a similar price in the long run, too. Buy a $15-20 pair of socks and give them a go.

I fully intend to start buying more and more expensive socks. I would just like to upgrade more visible parts of my wardrobe first and I don't want to do that until I'm nearer my target weight which at this rate will be awhile.

I have a few nice thorlos socks for running but thats its.

As it is though with summer approaching my sock wearing goes right down the drain until fall again. I have a bunch of no show socks that I wear. I don't go barefoot in my shoes.

I like it but I'd rather get a boot with a viberg sole if I'm getting a thick sole like that.

We need to switch gears here before I spend $700 on new boots and socks.

If you call Nick's, I'm sure they'd will do anything you want.

They are probably on par with White's, from what I gather.

When I went to India I had a cobbler make me two custom fitted pairs of shoes and the man purported to be the absolute best tailor in Kolkata, three custom suits. They were complete ****ing garbage. All of it.

I have a cobbler in Champagne Ardenne. He's $300 a pair but absolutely worth it. His name is Laurence Fournier, his shop is about the size of a suburban walk in closet. Takes the measurements, 7 day wait but if you tell him that you're American, it goes up to 2 weeks. Tip him and he gets them done in 48 hours. After he told me he could get my last pair done in 2 days, I walked out and called him "Larry" just to American-Troll him.

Movers showed up two hours late. Then they have to inventory everything and are crazy meticulous about how they wrap everything and pack the truck, which is good. But it means that it's now 3:00 pm and they aren't quite 1/2 way through packing the truck yet. We were hoping to be on the road by 1:00. Ugh,

So about 45 minutes ago I sent the wife and daughters up ahead since there's no use all of us sitting around waiting for the the movers to finish. At this rate I'll be lucky to get to N CA by 2:00 am.

How olds this guy? Is he going to die before I get to France?

70's at least, if he's even still around.

Also smokes like a chimney.

Makes a helluva shoe, though. Zero break in. He does weird stuff with strange, old tools and chemicals.

I put on a few options trades on my stuff. got clearance. quickly realized I can't make enough in premium to make it worth the trade cost. need another $200k. then I'll be able to collect like $6-8k every few months, plus a little appreciation on the underlying. that'll be nice.
