Speaking of pruning that...do they have professional manscapers? Like waxers but without the wax, just a little trim here and there?

and after 3 days, he is risen!

If you are paying $20 for a haircut, I imagine people assume you did it yourself anyway.

Pocket change cost me my first and only black girlfriend.   It was in the middle of a roaring poker boom and I was flush in ways most men don't even bother dreaming of. Money, it was like dirt to me

Had a call with a recruiter today. I think it went well. He seemed fairly optimistic he could get me somewhere for my asking salary range. But he also said that I might have to move my timeline up because of people in public starting to look after April might make it tougher for me. So, who knows.

Professional courtesy? We're right in the thick of budget and if I left now it would be a huge burden on my budget partner. I was aiming more for start juneish as we finalize budget early May so I might have to leave immediately following that and hope there's no issues. I figure it'll take at least 3 weeks for the hiring decision anyways and then they shouldn't mind if I have to wait another 3-4 weeks before starting. I wouldn't think anyways. But I wasn't really planning on sending out resumes until April but now it looks like next week.

Have you talked to anyone about your desire to do more? I remember you talking about cutbacks and being worried about getting laid off, but what else is backing your wanting to move on?

I don't know, just kind of want to? Want a new challenge and don't want to wait the 5 or so years to get in pay what I could probably get somewhere else. The only real career advancement is just title bumps, especially for a department like finance where we're not a revenue generator. There's multiple people in our department who have been here 15+ years and are just "senior" whatevers. I'm sure some of that is lack of ambition but it's also just how it is. Without getting too specific, the executive team is making some decisions that i don't really agree with and while I know it's pretty standard stuff for the shit to roll downhill but if I'm going to be covered in shit Just feels like it's time, you know?

Yeah all that May-Juneish talk sounds like hedging to me. Also, deferred timelines isn't what recruiters do, especially when someone is eminently qualified, in my experience. So break off recruitment initiative now and circle back around when you're actually ready to go, or be ready to jump at what they give ya now. You're in a "do or do not, there is no try" scenario here. I don't see a problem with 30 days from hire to start date. 2 weeks to finish like a professional is expected and 2 weeks to relocate.

Good luck big guy.

These people asked you to come back after you left. It just seems like they would be willing to have a genuine, big picture conversation with you.

Hank is right, the recruiter makes a solid argument about the seasonality of your profession. My experience was that they don't hustle as much for you if you give off the vibe that you aren't serious about the job search.

Finally got rid of those backwoods hillbilly Missourians and then we just go and replace them with the methed out West Virginians.

He still with that Mexican woman he found online?

Been in the hospital since Monday evening. Expect to explain going home tomorrow with a brand new J Peg stomach tube and 4 or 5 rounds more chemo, served weekly.

Getting a haircut tomorrow. Once again my stylist quit on me and I had to find a new one. A high rated barbershop miraculously had an opening tomorrow afternoon so i had to take it. Good bye flowing locks of gold.

Vince Staples is legit, I'm jealous.

Phone interview setup for Monday. Wasn't a position I was super in love with from the description but the recruiter guy says its a great company up there and I figure at the very least it's interview practice and if they offer me and the money is right there's no law that says I can't keep looking for another job if I don't like it. At least I don't think there is. Can I get confirmation from my lawyer?
