July goals : play 10k hands at 25NL 6-max on absolute with bonus and rakeback.July was looking good. At 7.5k hands with 3 days to go I was up 8 buy-ins and then I go on a 9.5-buy-in downswing in the last 3 days to 9.5k hands. OMFGJKHKJKJI!!!!. Cleared $65 dollars of bonus and $55 in rakeback so still up for the month but still a bit pissed off.August goals:I've only cleared $65 of a $500 bonus and it expires in 30 days. My June goal was to reverse my downswing and make up my losses from May. I only managed to play 2.5k hands of .02/.04NL and made up a bit but then dropped back again.I played 40 $3 SnG and results were as follows :1st : 32nd : 113rd : 1Bust : 25This left me break even for SnG play.A little frustrated I played 300 hands of .10/.25NL and won back my losses from June. Well I wanted my break even streak to end and in May it did....... With a 10 buy-in downswing. Initially it was just 6-buy-ins and I made it back to even but then in the space of 7 days I was down 10. Undoubtedly some of it was tilt , but I lost count of the number of times I lost AA to K3o and Q2o with the second pair coming on the turn or river. I've also seen set over set and flush over flush several times as well. Thanks for the advice Guys.Linkwood , Your right I did play the hands a litle too soft although I think the outcome would have been the same in any case. These hands were all over about 30 mins 4 tabling and I lost all of them, or came 2nd in multi way pots. Annoyingly on the river in most cases.cheers.

I know the basics of poker, i.e. starting hands, pot odds, standard raises , and position. This works o.k. for now as I'm grinding out a bankroll at very low stakes and the more complicated plays are simply not relevant at hese levels.As I move up I know I will need to learn to use Pokertracker more effectively to evaluate my own play and track others , I will also need to learn more complex postflop play.I'm quite patient and can lay down a good hand if I think I'm beat but when i'm tired and been sucked out too often by someone calling 4-6bb raises pre-flop with K3o and getting a set on the

$.02/.04NL only 2.2k hands at 23bb/100 over the last 8 days according to Poker Office.Even 4-tabling I'm struggling to get more than 300 hands a night. The tables break up so often and I can only play for 1.5 hours or so.Br = $92.

I can understand where your coming from up to a point but there may be the odd thing you haven't considered.I don't know what you do in your 8-hour shift to make $300 and it really doesn't matter if you know what I do in my 8-hour shift to make a lot less than that. The point is how you feel about what you do, and as it stands I'd rather do the 15k hands than spend one more minute in my job than I absolutely have to.It could also be said that there are those who would view you playing 30-50 tournaments to increase yor roll by only $400 as pretty much the same thing to me playing 15k hands to
