I just finished watching the WPT Championship event and the chip leader heading into the final table, James Van Alstyne, had a pretty bad meltdown. But given the WPT blinds structure, it's not too horrible a meltdown. Another pretty bad final table meltdown happened during the 2002 WSOP where Shipley had 30% of the chips at start of final table.Any other really bad meltdowns that I'm misssing?

2004 USPC at the Taj, john dagositino took like 5 bad beats in a row, going from chip leader of over 1mil over 2nd place to busting out like 7th

Yeah, that was quite bad. If I remember correctly, he lost most of it when he called Corkins all-in with pocket tens against Corkins' 8-7 only for Corkins to flop trips.

Andy Black had a significant chiplead at last year's WSOP final table. He managed to donk it all away with pocket 10's and ended up in 4th or 5th.

Someone may have to help me out here, unless I can find the quote myself. On one of the 2005 WSOP prelim events on ESPN the heads up match was pretty one sided, and one of the commentators talked about a recent tournament where a guy held an 87-1 chip lead going into heads up and ended up losing! That's got to be up there as one of the worst.I'll have a look now to find it, unless someone beats me to it.

The only 'donking' he did was probably against Kanter's kings. He took some brutal beats.

In a 45-man SNG I had about 65,000 and my opponent had like 2000 chips.Pretty ugly. Thought I had it in the bag.

Even though this was pretty bad, the very next hand he would have lost it all anyway when he had pocket kings and pocket queens caught a queen on flop.He was destined to be a loser.just saying

Think Scotty Had a pretty big chip lead in a tourny, and Gavin Smith managed to blow a decent chip lead at the Mirage Showdown with something like 4 bluffs gone bad where it was one of those" well I have to call now"
