Good read or Fortunate laydown

So it’s down to heads up in my weekly garage game and I have been dominating for most of the night. I have a strong chip lead and a good read and a lot of experience with my opponent. All I have to do now is wait on a hand to make my move.About ten minutes into the action not much has changed, and I pick up pocket 7s on the button. I bet out into the pot, 3x the blinds assuming my tight opponent to lay it down now. He slowly calls after almost moving for more chips and we see the flop. Flop comes Q 6 6 rainbow. So I'm happy for the most part, its a hit or miss situation, and I'm in position, but my opponent loves to slow play his big hands so I’m going to be in the dark on what he has unless I bet out into him. He checked to me, I bet out ten (normal bet), a slow Call. Turn Q, which I would usually love, but I still wasn't sure what he had. Another check to me and I bet 20 (biggish bet) knowing that if he called he probably had me beat, and I got another slow call, a little over acted call so I was almost sure he had it. River came with a 2 and after some deliberation he went all in. I thought about it for a long time then showed my sevens before I mucked them. He smiled and flipped over pocket 6s, and I let out a sigh of relief as I told him good hand.What do you think of this? Any mistakes made on either part? What would you do?

I woulda bet out on flop, but with a call, I would slow down. Putting yourself in his position, would you call a 10 dollar bet with a board like Q 6 6, unless you has some piece of it? Any piece of that flop would beat pocket 7's.

I would have played the pocket sevens the same way. As far as your apponent he conventionaly slowplayed 4 of a kind, no surprise there.

when the board is Q 6 6 Q 2, I wouldnt call pocket sevens a "good hand"
