Cricket Recommendation

Recommended Posts

Hi Daniel,I saw your post on the cricket, I watched that game aswell, at 4.30am in England also! That was our B Team we put out! We had a few injuries, although saying that we're not very good in the shortened version of the game.We played a 'test series' against Australia, where the matches are 5 days. I seriously recommend trying to buy the box set on dvd of the series, as it is considered the best test series ever, which happened last summer, and I was fortunate to watch the final day and see England bring home the ashes. (The ashes were when England first played Australia ages and ages ago, and they burnt the bails, the top thngs of the stumps, and put them in an urn). There are lots of forms of cricket, test series is the long version, one day the mid-short version, and 20/20 version where each team only gets 20 overs and a few different permitations in the rules, it's fast packed action!Hope this helps, and good luck in the nations cup, although hope England win it! Alan Ball the English football guy won the World Cup for us in 1966, so go easy!

As an Aussie, I have to agree with Wayneo in that the England v Australia Ashes test series was probably the best series of all time.......even though England won. But for shear entertainment, newcomers should get a copy of the highlights of the recent Australia v South Africa one day game on 12th March 2006. Have a look here for e.g : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Australia-VS-South-A...8QQcmdZViewItemIn 30 years of one day cricket, the previous highest score was 398 by Sri Lanka against Kenya, a lowly team. Australia smashed this by scoring 434...it was unbelievable at the time. Well..South Africa eclipsed it and scored 438. There have probably been well over one thousand one day games ever, and the 2 highest scores in one game.

sweet, i had no idea, thanks for the link
Beware of Brian Lara Cricket, I've had the old version for 6 years and was addicted, a five test series could take 24 hours plus to finish. I daren't buy the new one as I need a life!!

A great display of batting on a very poor 1 day wicket. Absolutely no hope for the poor bowlers. They were just cannon fodder.

Cricket really is an awesome game, one played called Sachin Tendulkar, who plays for India, is considered a god out there. You thought beatles mania was ridiculous, you should see when he's in India, millions of people love him! You couldnt compare it to anyone else like that in the World.

We American males get pretty excited when we see roller derby. Mildred the Mauler....I've seen people sell their houses just to have enough money to buy a ticket in the back row bleachers when Mildred plays.I guess that's why they shortened the word fanatic to describe them.
