  1. I totally empathize. I havent cried in 10 years til the past March, when I had to have my 8 yr old dog put down due to severe arthritis in his hind legs and back. I was emotional for 3 days. I still get teary eyed when I drive past the Petsmart where he was put down. In time it will get better. You made the dog's life great, and he yours. Also, at least he had someone there to love him when he passed, alot of animals (and people for that matter) pass alone with no one there to love them or say goodbye. You all will be together again.Best of luckGod BlessEdPS that Rainbow Bridge poem made
  2. I love the Monte Carlo Pokerroom just down the street from the Excalibur...very soft 1/2 NL Games...GL
  3. Last April I was in Vegas and stayed at NY NY, but played poker also at the Monte Carlo. I had the same experience on the 1-2...easiest game ever, well next to my local casino here in Oklahoma. I love the room at MC, very cozy, comfortable, inviting and homey. Next time Im in Vegas Im staying there. Good story, enjoyed the read!Ed
  4. I play at Lucky Star in El Reno (West Central, OK, off of I-40) A man and his son come from Amarillo almost every weekend to play. Pretty solid players, but overall, the play there is terrible. About an hour further south is Riverwind, in Norman, its new and very nice...probably tougher players....Cherokee in Tulsa is by far the best, but an extra 2 hr drive for you...Id probably go to New Mexico if I were you, but give Lucky Star a chance, I think youll like it.GLEd

  6. Hi,I have been playing at my local B+M on the 1/2 NL Max $100 buy in tables. My question is, how do you take down the aggressor/maniac at the table...I know in general, check more and call more, but when they bet EVERY hand Preflop over $20 and you keep looking down at Q10, KJ, 89s, how do you proceed, as just to call the $20 is 1/5 your stack? This seems to be a profitable way to play as these guys seem to build their stacks as they know I fold when weak and play when strong or drawing to a monster, so theyll fire another bullett on the flop and turn just forcing me to fold if I miss...Any
  7. Last night on UB, lost a $100 pot...heres how....Im in BB, look down at AA. UTG raises $3, 4 folds, cutoff reraises to $10, I reraise to $20......UTG folds, cut off all in and I call....he turns over 99.....99!!! After a raise and a reraise...guess he was pot committed....Flop xx9!! Turn blank river blank....how do you reraise a raise and a reraise with 9's??? Im no maniac at all, so if he was paying attention hed know I was strong....anyways, cost me appx $40 or so....I just dont get it....99????
  8. Silicon, very informative post, hope youll continue. I agree with what youre saying, especially live in a casino. Last Sat night, for instance, I have AJs. Maniac older man raises $20, everyone folds except me, and Im in the big blind. I call and the flop comes J and xs, xs (2 spades). He bets $45 and I call. The turn, a spade, I have the nut flush. I check knowing exactly what he has (AK to AQ at best) and the river is a 7 pairing the board. I push all in for $45 more and he turns over AQo. No pair, no draw, nada. It also seems like the newbies when they hit the monster check the fl
  9. Great story!! How did you like the Monte Carlo pokerroom?? When I was there last April I stayed at NYNY but played all my poker at the Monte Carlo. Love their pokerroom, tucked away in the corner, very nice, competition fairly soft. I played about 4 sessions of 1-2 NL appx 5 hrs apiece and ended up appx $500. Of all the casinos I went to Monte Carlo was my fav. Take careEd
  10. It's amazing how God sometimes nudges us and says "Hey, dont forget about me!!" It sounds like he may have been doing that a bit to you, Daniel. I dont believe you have to apologize for your beliefs or sounding preachy. You have a huge stage and a huge audience with immense popularity around the world. This could be one of the reasons God has blessed you with the talents you have. Who knows, Im sure you have probably already, with your faith and your message, touched many lives and led people to Christ without even knowing it. I believe actions speak louder than words and your actions sp
  11. <<<definitely my best year yet. 400 to start '06 off, within a month, was withdrawn thanks to me being an idiot and thinking i was with a girl i could give up poker for. yeah right.started back out with $90 in may, now at $2400. switching to primarily razz was highly beneficial>>One word for you........MEEEOWWWW!!!!!
  12. dont get Universal Life, get term insurance....Universal Life is not a total scam but there is no need for it, get a term policy and invest the diff in a mutual fund.
  13. Brisco,I faced something similar in a custody battle a few years ago. I, like you, did not lose money but spent lots of time playing poker and betting sports. The judge doesnt really care about that stuff. They hear it all day long all year long for years on end. If she showed that you lost the savings account or gambled the mortgage payment away thats one thing. Otherwise, the judge wont want to hear any of it and will let them know such immediately. The tax part of it concerns me a bit, but I doubt theyd even care about that. I would NOT cash out of my poker account. Just be honest a
  14. Thanks to this post I found this site and am in heaven....poker shows, movies, videos, books, etc. I am concerned about my ratio of dl to ul....will they boot you if your ratio is bad? I read til 2am this morning and read more this morning figuring out the port/firewall issue but am not very good in programming for sure. Any advice appreciated. I have read some of the how to's as well, which are pretty good.
