Commissionerbell 0
I was wondering if anyone knew of any cardrooms in Canada that have a decent amount of talbes. All the casinos I've seen at online directories have only like 4-10 tables. I live in MN and I don't wanna make the trip unless it's worth while. The reason I wanna play in Canada is that it'd be something fun to do. See a different part of the world and meet new people. Plus I'm only 19 so I can't play in, well anywhere in the U.S. besides MN. I consider myself pretty lucky to live in MN with the gambling age being 18. There is a great cardroom in MN that has 40 tables with limits ranging from 2-4 to 30-60. So if there is a cardroom in Canada that is worth driving from MN to I'd be very appreciative. I know that Daniel grew up in Canada so maybe you could help me out there. Thanks a lot.
oldadmin 0
My only suggestion at this time, due in part because I don't live in Canada would be to check CardPlayer's poker room directory.Unless you already knew of that resource it's worth taking a look at as they list contact info (phone) for the poker rooms, that way you can get a decent idea.Next best option, probably the best, is getting some feedback from others. ryan2323 0
I would think that the closest casino to you would be in Winnipeg Manitoba, about 3 hours?? from Miniapolis/ St. Paul.... here is a link to the two big casinoshttp://www.casinosofwinnipeg.com/casinos/you may also look at Regina, Saskatchewan.. longer drive though... about 8 hours from you id guess. If flying... try Vancouver.... largest poker room in Western Canada, Riverrock casino, 20+ tables, 2-4 to 50-100 limit games... and $200 max buy NL (3-6 blinds) many other casinos and poker rooms as well. and the bonus... nicest city in north america! best skiing, restaurants in the world, and host to the 2010 olympics!oh ya... yankee $ is worth 1.20 here too! ryan2323 0
exchange....the us $ is worth 1.20 (Aprox) canadian dollarsif you went to a Casino in Canada and bought in with $100 us, you would get 120 in chips.what im saying is... you basically get a 20% discount on anything you buy in canada... so it is a good deal to come up and travel, shop etc....sorry for any confusion... theACE 0
As mentioned by Ryan, The River Rock Casino in Richmond B.C. (just outside of Vancouver) is Western Canada's biggest Casino. Its new and pretty sweet, Its definitely your best bet if you plan on coming this way.

ryan2323 0
yah, thats where i play most of the time. Lower limit games 2-4, 4-8 and 6-12.Like you say, for the most part, people are great. Some dealers are a little week though. I played in the tourny last Saturday (100$ NL w/ 2 50$ rebuys) and had one dealer flash 4 cards in about 30 min!!! one was my hand, and would have picked up AA!!! Still did well though, made it to the final three tabes, but out of the $$'s.You play in their tournies ace? Also looking forward to Langley opening. I hear they will have a nice room too... I haven't played in any of their tourney's yet but i'm hoping to very soon. I haven't experienced any dealers like that but thats brutal, can't beleive that happened to you. Our plan is to open it in April/May 2005.I believe that it will accommodate 8 poker tables to start. The limits will be determined by demand and customer comments. PokerEH.com 0
The Brantford Charity Casino has 15 poker tables, with limits from $2-5 to $20-$40+Casino Yellowhead has 12 tables, which is in Edmonton, Alberta.
AceSpades11 0
I play at brantford myself. I really like the set up there. I have yet to go to Rama but I here it kinda sucks there.I also heard rumors that the new casino in Niagara Falls is opening a poker room for only high stakes. (20/40 and above).I also heard the old casino in niagara is opening up a huge poker room to accomodate all levels of play.Hope this helps from the Ontario Angle.
jayboogie 0
Niagara and Fallsview(sooner) are both opening up poker rooms. Your not missing much by not playing at Rama. The rake is 10% at Rama, which is way too high. To actually be a winning player is a difficult challenge playing there. You will get good games though, because players are really bad. It's still tough to offset the rake though. I've had some profitable sessions playing there, but in the long run, the rake will be very tough to beat.
88Fingers 0
Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls Ontario is opening on the 10th of Jan. I have heard MANY different rumours as to the games/limits that are going to be available. What seems to be the only consistent piece of each is the games are mainly going to be PL or NL. Casino Niagara (sister to Fallsview) is scheduled to open in April (again, as per last info). With that one, they are renovating the room that is currently a high stakes bacarrat room, they could fit a good number of tables there.I am going to Fallsview when it opens (within a week of it opening), I'll re-post after I go and let everyone know what the limit/games are.If you are in Ontario playing poker and see a 6' 3" skinny guy with a poker tie on, come say hi, it's probably me.
